Cowboy Chris,
THANK YOU. I really did just find the whole thing funny. I had no idea we were going to end up examining my entire psychological makeup before it was over 🙄😳🤪
And for the record, I’d absolutely go see Jimmy Carr with you. Clearly we’d survive it. 😂
August 16, 2026 at 2:07 pm #792348Lola my view on astrology might not hurt your feelings too much. While I don’t wake up every day and check my horoscope to see if there are any foreboding events awaiting me on that particular day… I do find it interesting to read about the match-up between astrological signs. I don’t necessarily put much stock in what I read, but there are some very accurate comparisons between, say, a Sagittarius and a Pisces, or whatever the case may be. So I will sometimes use it as a point of reference as I get to know someone, and kind of see how accurate it might be. Fascinating stuff.
And as usual, I can’t help adding a bit of unnecessary but true information to the discussion. Astrological signs were first charted about 2000 years ago, but over time, Earth’s procession has actually changed the position of the zodiac in relation to the position of the Earth. So in the present day, you might have been born under the astrological sign of Leo (for example), but Leo wasn’t actually central to the sun at that time. So the designations we use for birth dates and astrological signs aren’t very accurate anymore when it comes to the actual position of the zodiac. I am a Sagittarius, but when I was born, Ophiuchus was the actual constellation in the sky at the time. And that’s not even one of the 12 signs of the zodiac. So I don’t know what that says about me… I guess I’m uncharted territory. Enter at your own risk lol.
Anyway… as always… just doing my part to enlighten the community.
August 16, 2026 at 2:29 pm #792359TJR!!!,
Wait wait wait… Ophiuchus?! 😂 ME TOO!! And now you’ve sent me straight down another rabbit hole.
I actually use sidereal astrology, which accounts for the shift you’re talking about, and I’m a Sagittarius Sun with a Leo Moon AND Leo rising…so there’s an obnoxious amount of 🔥🔥🔥 happening over here. But, apparently astronomically I get to throw Ophiuchus into the mix too?? I’m delighted by this information!
And “uncharted territory, enter at your own risk” feels suspiciously Sagittarius anyway.
See, THIS is why I ask the space nerd questions. ❤️
August 16, 2026 at 2:39 pm #792365Always happy to answer any questions… particularly the space nerd variety. lol
August 16, 2026 at 11:33 pm #792713Very insightful!
August 17, 2026 at 9:15 am #792910Lola… I swear every time you post, I have to sit down, hydrate and emotionally prepare myself. You’ve done it again.
You’re right in your sentiment as there’s something absolutely majestic about scrolling through an adult breastfeeding forum, a place already niche enough to require its own secret handshake and suddenly stumbling across someone with such a requirement is like watching someone walk into a tattoo parlour and politely stating that if they don’t do Bible study classes on Thursday afternoons then they would go elsewhere for the tattoo they desired.
I’m imagining the denominational sorting hat you described as…
Baptists: “Full immersion only.”
Methodists: “We’ll allow it, but there will be a committee.”
Catholics: “Wine’s already out, let’s not pretend.”
Episcopalians: “We brought robes and incense, let’s make this interesting.”Is this what you kind of meant?
Maybe it’s the way I pictured it but the part that really made me giggle was the idea of someone meeting their absolute dream potential partner here with them being warm, funny, kind, brilliant and then saying “Although everything about you is perfect and you’re the perfect match, I’m sorry but your theological stance on the metaphysical nature of the divine doesn’t match what I’m looking for and so for that reason, I’m out!”
Imagine rejecting your potentially perfect soulmate just because he or she didn’t pass the doctrinal quiz. On a website as specific and niche as this one, of all places.
It’s like showing up to a circus and saying, “I’m fine with the juggling, the acrobatics and the fire-breathing… but I draw the line at watching clowns.”
…and Lola? Please never stop posting.
Your commentary is the spiritual nourishment this place didn’t know it needed and it absolutely stirs a conversation!August 17, 2026 at 12:58 pm #792965Dearest Triton 😘💋,
THIS is why I always look forward to your comments!
The denominational sorting hat is
FABULOUS! “Full immersion only” made me snort. 😂 And yes, you absolutely understood what I was getting at. Nobody is saying Christians can’t be here or shouldn’t want another Christian. I just cannot get over the hilariously tiny Venn diagram involved in finding someone who is your perfect match, wants an ANR, happens to be on THIS little corner of the internet…and then having to send the poor person back because they got Jesus wrong! And apparently I should’ve used your circus analogy and saved us all about 97 comments worth of theological debate. 😂
As for “spiritual nourishment”…after everything that has happened in this thread, I’m accepting that title immediately. Reverend Lola May has a nice ring to it. Donations are $50 and apparently come with Verified Member status.😉
You have this lovely little habit of making me smile every time we cross paths, Triton! I hope you know how much I enjoy you 😘
August 17, 2026 at 2:13 pm #792978Anyway, continuing on with my 20’s and the 90’s: Lil’ gamer-me was a _staunch_ atheist. Staunch like a motherfucker, with that shit. Stainless steel and razor sharp: not even *I* could do anything about it. 1-sided, all day long. I knew naught else: and why would I? Science knows all, everyone who knows anything knows that!
I knew all the lines. I don’t have to “believe,” because I “know.” I have science! All that stupid shit 🙂
It’s 1999 and mister staunch razor sharp stainless steel atheist is, simultaneously, clueless. Clueless like a motherfucker. If you had said “tribal” to me, I would have pictured a “non-contacted tribe,” ya know – spears and grass skirts, lotta tits hanin’ out on a savana, somewhere. I had no idea what was happening to me.
This went on for a while. Hands up, confession time: who remembers that Stop Sign atheist account on pre-IPO Twitter? Can’t remember what it was called. It’s main hook was the correct spelling of the word atheist, which thanks to the i-before-e-except-after-c rule, makes for shallow, easy prey. Oh! “Big fan,” of that shallow, easy thing. Just a giddy little child…
Thankfully you can outgrow all that. You don’t swap out your atheism, per se. You don’t break down and join a church or cult, eventually. That’s not the fate of the thinking atheist. The fate of the thinking atheist is to realize and transcend the tribe.
The two people I hang out with the most “IRL” are the most hardcore, whackadoodle Xtains I’ve ever met – and – they’re honestly better company than my bitter, conspiracy-laden, anti-AI, anti-this, anti-that secular neighbors who are “fuckin’ bummers,” to quote myself. No solutions to any of that, they just wanna complain about it. All day: the news comes in one ear and then it comes out their mouth an hour later. Meanwhile, the Whackadoodles know full well I’m not a believer and I know full well they’re completely tanked, and we get along _better_. They enjoy nature, more. Me too! She drinks: me too! We get drunk. He drives! It’s hillarious!
I’m _technically_ atheist, but only a tribalized atheist will ever care to point that out. I don’t self-describe as atheist anymore, an identity move I made to separate myself from tribal types. My Xtain friends aren’t tribal. The magic books aren’t the poison any more than the scientific method is the poison: tribalism, gentle reader, is the poison. Tribalism is the root foundation of sexism, racism, and whatever this shit is: “ontologism?”
I’m just so done with people who haven’t found, ergo do not see, _any_ of this yet. Ya know? They’re just these tunnel-visioned “feel the rage, get the Other” types. All this knee-jerk over-passioned nonsese people refuse to outgrow. Until then: don’t forget to remember to get in there, get loud, get proud and score some points for Team Truth!
What’s really so off-putting about this thread is how much it reminds me of my former idiot self.

August 17, 2026 at 2:57 pm #792997Egotistical narcissists tend to shy away from psychology. Gee, I wonder why that is? Not “sexy” enough? Too “boring?” They’re too “busy,” they have “better things to do with their time,” is that the shtick? 🙂
(those are rhetorical questions btw).
Dream roundtable: the ANR/ABF community discusses the dark triad of psychology. Talk about “giggle.” You could sell tickets to that. “Speak, shadow: speak!”

August 17, 2026 at 3:17 pm #793017Another observation for students of culture, which time will reveal to be quite relevant to this thread:
You know how drag queens wear that very gregarious, over-the-top makeup? And hairstyles, and clothing: it’s as if nothing they do is subtle. Everything is in-your-face, turned up to 11. You can’t miss ’em. They are looking to be _noticed_, are they not?
It’s the male perception of feminine power. And males being males, as with weapons and truck lifts and the blasting of quads, all must be taken to the extremes of human tolerances (it’s a rule).
If that approach were prose, not pigment… if it was scribed, not hairstyled: what would that prose sound like? How would it read? Reserved, would it be? Would it be tasteful, and just enough? Or… do you predict: lots of heart emoji’s, and super kissy-kissy, smoochy-poochy, huggy-face emoji’s, 111% cutsie poo, emphasis on the poo. Each emotion, each everyting would be at 11, oh! Fem, beyond the realm of fem itself. It would be gregarious, over-the-top. Corny to the point of cringe: and proud of it! Far, far (far) moreso than a straight (let alone gay) woman would ever actually do. Except maybe on Halloween: the day when it’s culturally expected to be something you’re not.
When a man is put in charge of being a woman: WOWZERS. WHAT a WOMAN! You’ve never SEEN such a woman before! They’ll send you wedding rings, right there on the spot. Don’t ask me how I know that.
🙂

August 17, 2026 at 3:43 pm #793028One final “Jon mode” cherry ‘pon top of the super-content layer for my gentle, sweet lurkers (hot tramps: I love you, so):
We have a lot of budding authors, here!
You can’t write a smut book, without being able to write a female character. What would a “novice” attempt at that sound like? How would that read, do you reckon?
Let’s suppose you’ve got an egotistical “gentleman” who thinks he “knows women” and fancies himself an “author.” How will his female characters read?
Do you think individual women will respond positively to “corny to the point of cringe?” Will they relate to a ditzy, goofy, overly-affectionate Hallmark card contrivance, the batting of eyelashes and dismissive gestures, silver-lined with her cheap laughter across vast disciplines. Or will it moreso be the boys who get a kick out of that?
🙂
