In my experience, I’ve seen more than one woman put the requirement of being a Christian in her profile! Lmao.

    LTR ♾️ ANR AKA “houseboy”,

FFS, are we STILL doing this?! What a man/houseboy of your word you are 🙄🙄🙄

You told everyone not to engage with me! You told me you were done speaking to me! And then you came back and wrote THREE more posts about me! Are you okay?!?

And what a journey they were. 😂 I’m now possibly a fake woman, possibly a man, possibly the reincarnation of someone named Potato, a narcissist, a projectionist, a boomer with “grandma on Facebook” energy and apparently the culmination of something you first began contemplating while playing EverQuest in the 90s. This is All because I wrote a silly post about “Christian seeking Christian” making me giggle. 🙄😂🙄

You keep trying to convince everyone that I’m desperate for attention while giving me an absolutely extraordinary amount of yours. You keep warning people not to engage with me while being, by a considerable margin, the person most engaged with me. And you keep diagnosing my narcissism while somehow making every single thing I say an opportunity to talk about your own intelligence, insight and superiority!

At some point, satire becomes unnecessary. 😂

I will say one thing seriously! The racist and transphobic garbage is gross, disgusting, and nauseating to me! You dislike me. Fine (actually, great at this point). I already told you I’m very happily, not for everybody. But dragging entire groups of people into whatever issue you have with me is ugly and completely unnecessarY!

So I think I’ll finally take the advice you’ve been giving everyone else and stop engaging. You’ve said more about yourself here than I could ever hope to.

Wishing You All The Best, and cheers to you “houseboy”. I sincerely hope you have the day YOU deserve!

    Suckleberry Finn,

Thank you for your very thoughtful response.
I actually agree with most of this. ❤️ Of course someone can want ANR and also want a partner who shares their faith, values and worldview. I don’t think those things are mutually exclusive at all, and I certainly don’t think anyone should leave an important part of themselves at the door just because they happen to be on this particular website.

Where I think we differ is that I don’t believe finding the contrast funny automatically equals ridicule or intolerance. Sometimes something just strikes me as funny. The very traditional “must be Christian” sitting alongside the very unconventional “also, adult breastfeeding please” tickled me. That doesn’t mean I think the person is stupid, irrational or shouldn’t want exactly what they want.

I also think we’ve gotten to a strange place if gently poking fun at the contradictions and odd little combinations that make us human is automatically considered unkind. I’m perfectly happy for someone to laugh at mine too. We ALL know there’s plenty of material. 😂

We can respect people’s choices without treating every choice as too sacred to joke about. ❤️

    NMT,

Oh I know! Apparently Jesus has representatives on both sides of the aisle here.

    Cream and coffee,

YES!! You get it. I spent years DEEP in that world too, and I think sometimes having lived it is exactly what makes the humor so obvious. We’re not laughing because Christians have sexual desires. We’re laughing because we know firsthand how much guilt and SIN could be wrapped around anything remotely sexual…and now here we all are discussing Jesus on an adult breastfeeding website.

And I love what you said about faith still mattering to you. That’s the nuance that seems to be getting lost here. You can believe something, value it deeply, question parts of it AND laugh at it sometimes. Those things can all live happily in the same person.

Honestly, if we can’t occasionally laugh at the things that shaped us, life is going to be awfully damn long and boring!

    😆😆😆😆

“From Your One And Only Source Of Truth In This Community” ranks up near the top of the list of funniest and most ridiculous things I’ve ever read on this site. And if you’ve ever spent any time looking at the female profiles and reading the comments that men post (publicly!!!) under their photos, that’s saying a lot. It’s quite an accomplishment lol.

    TJR,

I KNOW!! The moment I read “One And Only Source Of Truth” I thought, well thank goodness we finally got THAT sorted out! I’ve been wondering who was in charge of truth around here. 😉🙃😘

Lola May, yes there’s plenty of material to poke fun at on both sides of the aisle – differing opinions do make it extremely interesting. There’s no right/wrong on this one 😉

Forgive me in advance. I’m a teacher, self-professed space nerd, and man of science, so I realize this might be off topic… although the topic of this forum post has certainly skewed towards a debate over religion in general. Either way, here are some actual FACTS about religion vs. science, for anyone who cares:

    1) No one can PROVE the existence of a supreme being, be it God, Allah, Buddha, or whatever. Religion is based solely on FAITH and personal belief, not on fact and certainly not on scientific evidence.

    2) No one can PROVE that “the big bang” is factual, either, although the science, mathematics, and physics of the big bang theory are INFINITELY more solid, observable, mathematically sound, and fact-based than the idea that there’s an “almighty being” responsible for the creation of the universe.

    3) What we CAN provide proof of, though, through factual historic records, archaeology, our calendar, and numerous other things, is that ALL religions and their offshoots originated relatively early in human civilization, and were largely rooted in our observation of the visible stars and planets over thousands of years, long before “science” was a term or telescopes existed. 7 days in a week. 7 heavens. 7 deadly sins. God creating the heavens and earth in 6 days plus a day of rest. All of those things are based on the fact that there were 7 celestial bodies in the sky which were visible to the naked eye (sun, moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn). Those 7 objects were different from other stars and celestial objects because they moved in ways that were unpredictable, at least in the early days of human civilization. The word “planet” means “wanderer” in Greek. Those 7 wanderers are the reason why the number 7 has such significance in religion, mythology, fantasy, and even mathematics. And if there had been EIGHT visible celestial bodies, or 11, or 3, or whatever… our religions, mathematical systems, calendar, and many other things would almost certainly be based on THAT number, rather than 7. (Imagine an 11 day workweek… holy crikey!!)

Likewise, our calendar and many other notable religious ideals are also based on the night sky and our movement through space. Ancient people figured out that there were twelve constellations that we moved through through the four season. So 12 has a very significant role in our religions (12 apostles, 12 tribes of israel, etc), as well as astrology (12 signs of the zodiac) and in our mathematical system, too.

Anyway… Forgive me. I could go on and on. To each his or her own. Who am I to judge if someone needs God in order to enjoy nursing??

Just doing my part to “Be a Source of Truth in This Community,” as it were.

Apologies to anyone I’ve bored or bothered with this. Thank You for joining my TED talk!

Lola, you didnt understand me correctly. Taking my argument into the extreme ‘ every giggle should be in private’ is a false dillemma. The same for ‘i never said that christians shouldnt be on here’.

Had hoped for more depth in the discussion.

    Hi Rumina,

Okay, that’s fair. I think I see what you were actually getting at now, and you’re right that my first response kind of veered off course.

Where I think we probably still don’t land in the same place is on whether that juxtaposition is automatically unkind or intolerant. I don’t think it is.

My relationship with Christianity isn’t casual or distant. I was deeply in it…teaching Sunday School, leading Bible studies, running ministries, the whole thing. It shaped how I understood sex, morality, marriage, women, even my own body. And then I questioned a lot of it and ended up somewhere very different. So when I see “Christian seeking Christian” on an adult breastfeeding site, the humor for me isn’t “lol Christians have sex too,” it’s the collision of two worlds I’ve actually lived inside.

I have a background where purity and sexual boundaries were taken very seriously, especially for women. So seeing that framework sitting inside something as unconventional as ANR creates a kind of mental friction that I do find funny, not because I’m mocking anyone, but because I recognize the tension from my own history.

What I do think is a really good question is yours: how does ANR fit into someone’s Christianity? Is it sexual, nurturing, something reserved for marriage? Does faith deepen it, complicate it, or both? I’m genuinely curious about that too.

And I don’t think curiosity and humor cancel each other out. I can be interested in someone’s worldview and still find a situation amusing without it being disrespectful. I don’t think kindness means we have to handle every belief like it’s made of glass.

So I hear you. I just don’t fully agree with you, and I think that’s okay. And if there’s still something in what you were saying that you think I’m missing, I’m happy to keep talking about it. I actually enjoy respectful conversations where we don’t all agree.😊

    TJR 🤗,

Oh, you’re speaking my language now. I’m fascinated by all of this! The way humans have looked at the sky and tried to make sense of ourselves and our existence for thousands of years is endlessly interesting to me! And I’m far more comfortable with “we don’t actually know” than I am with anyone claiming absolute certainty in either direction.

Now you’ve made me curious though…as a man of science AND a space nerd, what are your thoughts on astrology? Because I have a feeling you may be about to hurt my feelings. 😂

Also, I was thoroughly enjoying your TED Talk and then you slipped in “Source of Truth in This Community” and nearly took me out. 😂😂 Well played, sir. Well played!

    Grogman 🙃,

An effing wild ride indeed. I certainly didn’t have “religious debate, amateur psychoanalysis and flat-earth adjacent humor” on my bingo card when I wrote a silly post about Christian profiles. 😂

But I fully support your right to hold out for another round earther. Shared values matter, apparently. 😘😘😘
