I feel like I have been trying to induce forever. I can get drops but I have never been able to get past that so I gave up for awhile. I am back at it and pumping every 2 hours but again am stuck at drops. What am I doing wrong? I have a good pump and have checked and rechecked my flange sizes. I have bought different pumps and different flanges. I take dom. I am at a loss and really want to give up again. Help!
June 3, 2026 at 7:58 pm #753187Lactivist and Goat’s Rue helped a bit. I pumped for 3 years and never got more than drops. I only increased production when I had a regular partner to nurse at least 4 x a day. Some women need the real thing and don’t increase production without the emotional connection and a human need.

InactiveIt takes a lot of dedication and consistency. There is good information on a website called land of milk and honey. A human partner can also make all the difference as it is psychologically and emotionally driven more than just physical stimation.
June 3, 2026 at 9:46 pm #753217Wel said @yogisoul. I have seen many cases where it was just a drop(s) with pumping/hand expression but it increased with human nursing.
June 3, 2026 at 11:00 pm #753258I guess I should have mentioned that I do have a partner. I am struggling with how to teach him to latch because I do not know the proper way myself. Is it possible to have too much breast in the mouth? HAHA.
June 4, 2026 at 12:07 am #753310There are a few forums that help with latch here is one of them
June 4, 2026 at 1:51 am #753377A valuable resource is the ladies only lactation round table. I believe the next one is June 14.
June 4, 2026 at 2:58 am #753446Sent you a DM but also wanted to reply directly in the form post. Have you taken anything other than domperidone?
Oxytocin can play a big role in inducing lactation and breast pumps do not trigger the production of it in the same way that nursing does.
There are many things that go into inducing lactation, hormones, stimulation, and supply and demand.
Unfortunately, pumps come in last when it comes to stimulation for inducing and maintaining lactation.
First place is suckling, second is hand expressing/marmet massage, pumps come in third. There is no proof that tense units aid in inducing or maintaining lactation. Make sure your hand expressing after every pumping session and nursing.
The original forum post for the ladies lactation round table has a lot of comments with great information for inducing, boosting, and maintaining lactation.

June 4, 2026 at 4:11 am #753461Hi Faith,
You’ve got an invitation to the roundtable last week. In there you’ll find the information how to join, if you want to. Welcome! If you are using supplements: try them one by one. Sometimes they can have a negetive effect on your supply. Often they don’t do much to nothing.
