I think you’ve earned the right to have a little rant! 😄To be fair, you’ve been pretty clear about what you’re looking for in your profile, just a shame that so many people who send a message or friend request don’t even bother to take the time to read profiles and sadly some that do just decide to ignore everything they’ve just read and charge in like they’ve discovered a magical exception clause hidden somewhere and continue to think “…surely she didn’t mean me?”
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with knowing what you want and being upfront about it. In fact, you’re probably saving everyone time, effort and a fair amount of awkward conversation by taking the time to spell out so clearly in your profile exactly what you’re looking for and more-so what you’re not.
As for searching for a unicorn, I’d argue that finding someone who actually reads a profile before hitting “message” might be the rarer mythical creature! 😂
Keep the faith though! The genuine and attentive people among us will appreciate your openness, honesty, patience and respect your clearly drawn boundaries.
Wishing you better friend requests, fewer unsolicited auditions for the role of “special exception” and every bit of luck in your search. 🦄
