Supplements vs tens units: what do u think is most effective? Trying to find practical solutions with long work days without privacy.
I’ve seen a little “glistening”, what’s the timeline and stages been like from there?

I’m my experience it’s not just one thing but a combination of massage, tens, pumping, human suckling if possible, and natural supplements like fenugreek, milk thistle, blessed thistle, goats rue etc. Some women swear by lactation teas, some rolled/steel cut oats. But it really is trial and error because what might work for one woman may not work for another.
If you want a list of natural supplements let me know. Always happy to help.

I am a strong proponent for not using supplements unless you have to. Pump, tens if you have it. Prior nursing of a child helps because the breasts are primed and know what to do. Harder perhaps when you haven’t born a child and nursed them long term.

Pumping, massage, tens are healthier. I had success with pumping 2-3 times a day and had results in 6 weeks, with milk droplets, but I nursed my daughter 3 years as an infant.

After than you need a human mouth to bring you to fuller lactation. No supplement, pump or tens can replace that.

Fenugreek cuts milk supply. Not good to use they recommend goats rue and Moringa. Not pumping just suckling and or manual massage. Two good books to read are the art of lactation and loves sweet embrace full of good info. They are on amazon. By Jennifer Elisabeth maiden.
    Hope this helps.

I do not waste my time with supplements or a tens unit, supplements get expensive and a poor connection on a tens pas can shock you. The first time I induced lactation I did it with pumping alone about 3 times a day, no supplements, no suckling partner, no domperidone, no tens unit. Stimulation tells the body to produce milk and demand tells the body to produce more. When I’m at work I do marmet massage on my breaks, sometimes. Domperidone just makes it so freaking easy, I haven’t taken any pills in days and I haven’t used a pump in more than a week and I can still spray milk. Domperidone is far more cost effective and works a whole lot faster than supplements. I have dropped lactation and picked it back up without any major effort, whenever I want to reinduce I start taking domperidone and pumping again. If you’re wanting to use domperidone and you do not want to ask your gp for it send me a message and I can get you the ordering info for a company that will ship to Canada.
