Ladies, in your experience is a hospital grade pump worth the money? I understand a regular ie hands free, Medela pack and go etc .. would probably take longer but is that the only advantage to a hospital grade one?

From my experience the hospital grade pumps are better. I started with a hands free and went to a hospital grade. There is a stronger sucking action with the hospital grade pumps. I have had better results with hospital grades.

Thanks you for your input. Oh and thoughts on goat milkers? Anyone actually use one or is that more of a novelty. I read that its can cause damage.

There really isn’t anything comparable to hospital grade pumps except for older model pumps. I’ve tried a large variety of hands-free pumps and none of them had durable battery-life, the appropriate suction, or lasted longer than a couple of months. I’ve spent more money than I would have ever wanted to on a large variety of useless hands-free pumps. I ended up buying a couple of discontinued older model pump motors off of EBAY.
So in my opinion, new isn’t always better. I’d stick with hospital grade or older models.

The hands free are not strong enough. I have tried a portable goat milker but it was noisy and didn’t have the same suction as a hospital grade. But I enjoyed being milked with one and how the milking cylinders elongated my nipples.

Ohhh that sounds like fun. Might be worth it for the lovely visuals but it does look like the consensus is hospital grade is worth it

Also check with your insurance. They may help cover this. I don’t know if there is a provision in insurance regarding having a baby.
