Ongoing “disappearing messages” issues are affecting private messages. If you’ve noticed your own messages occasionally vanishing, then please look at the three options below. Leave a comment with the number which best describes the issue. And include what kind of device you use (android/iphone/laptop etc) and the browser. The software developer needs this EXACT information to be able to resolve the problem. Also please state how often you notice it happening. Thanks for your help!
1 – you type message, hit SEND, text input area clears, message does not appear in messages list, refresh page, message shows in messages list as expected.
2 – you type message, hit SEND, text input area clears, message does not appear in messages list, refresh page, message does not show, it’s gone, forever.
3 – you type message, hit SEND, text input area clears, message appears in messages list as expected, BUT after you refresh the page that message does not show, it’s gone, forever.
Number 1 android
#2 a couple times to me. I’ve had to retype the messages resend. It didn’t duplicate.
And sometimes it’s double messages too.
Number 1, iPad Pro, Safari (I only noticed it to happen once last night)
The only issue I noticed is I can’t tell if I already opened a message to read or if the message is a new unread message I haven’t opened yet.
Blckharlemmann. If it’s an unread message there should be a number (+1) next to it in the threads list.
Lol does it count if I say all 3? It depends I guess but I have experienced all 3 of the options above and Blckharmlemmann is right sometimes the (+1) does not appear next to my unread threads so I have to close down my browser and restart it again.
For me it only occurred when logged in on my phone and my computer at the same time. And it wasn’t my message that disappeared but someone I was chatting with.
Other persons message appeared on the computer but not on my phone. Refreshed on my phone and still not there. Refreshed on computer and message gone.
Skylark, please confirm this was not a picture message deleting itself after 24 hours? This was a message which disappeared immediately after it was sent?
Correct it wasn’t a picture message.
