Just a couple of points ….
– ABFheaven will hit 10,000 total membership soon …no big deal because most of those are not regularly active on the site. Still… it LOOKS good, right?
– Once we get to the ten thousand, I will begin removing accounts which have not been active for a year or more. I think that’s pretty reasonable.
– However … the notification emails for Private Messages & Friends Requests are now active again after being totally switched OFF for everyone for over a year. This means that if you messaged someone in your area (eg. months ago) and they never responded or even logged in to the site …they would have been totally unaware of your attempt to contact them. Emails were OFF for everyone.
– It might be worth your while trying again now, to contact a long-term inactive user. …they would now receive an email notifying them of your message. Might bring them back to the site? It’s possible. Since emails were re-activated a week ago, quite a significant number of formerly inactive (for months) users have come back, as a direct result of receiving emails.
Good luck!
August 16, 2021 at 6:46 pm #25593Thank you Michael. Hopefully the inactive users that are still seeking ABF/ANR can be brought back to active search.
August 16, 2021 at 7:34 pm #25602Are the emails retroactive? Will a user get an email now for a message that was sent to them 6 months ago, or only for new messages?
August 16, 2021 at 9:02 pm #25627Not retroactive …only new messages will trigger emails

InactivePrepare yourselves inactive users.. you’re about to get drawn back in 😂😂
Mister Lusty, I am doubtful the emails would be retrospective, so you’ll have to send another message to whoever it was 😉
August 17, 2021 at 2:08 pm #25784Michael, when did the email notification for non users become active??

InactiveThey were retrospective. I haven’t been active since November and received MANY notifications from 6 months ago. Hope that helped!

InactiveHi Michael, personally I think a year is far to long
I’d suggest a 3/4mnth cut off. That would leave approx 170ish females and 550ish males active in that time frame.
Could the 3mnths to a year accounts not be put into a dormant type area area & if they become active they’d move back into the main active section.??10,000 accounts !! And how long has the site been going ??

Inactive3 to 4 month cut off would leave a very small amount of people left, over 90% of the site memberships would be gone by your numbers. one of the other sites did this a couple of years back but not as deep, but they did it more to extend resources not to make it easier for people to meet people. don’t think they really recovered numbers wise.
August 21, 2021 at 3:06 pm #26815Ha! I didn’t realise it would be retrospective! No wonder people were complaining about a deluge of emails. Sorry!
Anyway, I suppose that changes things a little. Many inactive members will now have gotten emails re. PMs sent to them during their inactive period. So that’s pretty much taken care of.
Re. the correct cut-off period for inactive users, it’s all guesswork really, by you and by me. I’m just going to start furthest back and gradually work forward. Won’t happen all at once.
“T”, the site has been going nearly 2 years.
“Ste”, the site doesn’t send emails to non users. If you mean when did it start sending out to any registered users, well it was switched OFF for a long time, switched back on a few weeks ago.
