There is a sacredness to the act of suckling that defies time defies shame and defies the world’s hardened skepticism. I write this not as a man entranced by novelty nor as a lover who partakes casually but as one who has returned again and again to the breast with reverence. With devotion. With need.

I’ve suckled for sustained long periods on 5 breasts since I was 20; 2 after 3 hours I knew wasn’t right for me; the other three I never wanted to leave. It wasn’t just the breast, it was two people desiring an emotional connection not just physical.

Breastfeeding when willingly shared between lovers is not simply erotic though it is achingly so. It is not merely comforting though in those moments I have found the deepest peace I’ve ever known. It is above all a return a spiritual homecoming. To be allowed to suckle to be held and nourished and grounded by a woman who offers her body in this ancient way is a privilege beyond words.

As I sit here writing this on a Saturday evening, there is something about Sundays. The world softens. The pressure lifts. The week’s machinery with its grind and pulse falls silent. Sundays feel like slow jazz and warm honey like skin against skin under a lazy ceiling fan. They are made for long silences and timeless touches.

On Sundays breastfeeding becomes transcendent. We aren’t racing toward climax or tangled in breathless hurried arousal. We are slow. Intentional. Present. She takes her place regal and relaxed and I lower myself to her lap my head on her thigh my lips at her breast and everything disappears. Emails. Deadlines. Bills. Even speech. There is only the warmth of her skin, the perfect weight of her nipple on my tongue and for me the heaviness of her breast on my face.

The latch is no longer a technicality it is a communion. My mouth seals around her with practiced ease and she sighs deep and low. The kind of sigh only a woman makes when her body knows it is worshiped. And I do worship her not with words but with the long rhythmic pull of a man who has waited all week to be nourished. Feeding is innate, its our first natural response and isn’t a want but a need.

There is no other gesture as powerful as a woman offering her breast not just for pleasure not just for feeding but for trust. For connection. For something so tender and ancient it cannot be touched by modern cynicism. In those quiet moments we are no longer man and woman in a hurried world. We are eternal. I am hers completely and she is mine in the most primal peaceful beautiful way I know. And when she strokes my hair and I feel her heartbeat just beneath her skin I understand why this is the place I always return to. Especially on Sundays.

Forever suckling with the most perfect latch. Sundays will always be special.
