The Garden of ANR/ABF

In a way—and I know this may sound weird to some—but I look at growing an ANR connection like I look at growing a flower.

You have to prepare the soil first, making sure it’s ready to grow there, making sure what you both want. Then the roots can take hold, becoming strong like a connection, letting the trust grow and strengthen. Then you nurture it and feed it—not just with water, but with love and care. You have to listen and look closely to see what the connection needs to thrive. Protect it from weeds that might choke it, like toxic habits or rushing things would. You have to get to know if it likes sunlight or shade, never forcing a partner into an environment or place they don’t like. And above all, have patience. Let it grow at its own rate. You can’t force a flower to grow, just like you can’t force someone to open up their heart and give their love away.

With all that said, if you put in the right care and work, one day you’ll end up with a beautiful flower. And just like enjoying the sweet scent of a bloom, for some, a big part of this beautiful connection is simply about the pleasure it brings.

I’d love to know: Does anyone else view their approach to ABF/ANR this way or any other?

Does anyone view ANR or ABF as an anchor that keeps them grounded, rather than something that grows outward?

Yes I was thinking along the same lines.. patience, calmness, tranquility, peace, honesty, kindness, respect, affection, love, devotion, sacrifice, and humility make up the right conditions/soil to bear the fruit of a good relationship. Finding that would probably take a hundred life times.. not sure that much time is left for mankind on this earth given how things are going.

But it’s lovely to know that loving people exist who are on the same wavelength as one. Life is too short after all..so love all, live life to the best of our abilities is what I aiming for!

Paul, what a great way of viewing it! Well written!
I could use some gardening lessons, I think you would cry seeing mine.

I fully agree on the way you see an ANR. My tools however would not be a rake or a spade, mine are words and imagination. So if I am allowed to add another metaphore: to me its like writing a poem. Same phases of preparation (gathering ideas, making notes), planting (putting an idea into words) see what it needs to thrive (rephrase, add and cut words out). And patience yes, its never a complete finished poem at the first try. It needs care.
May be other oeople have new metaphores (music, photography, building?)

Thank you Rumina 😊And of course you can add another metaphor, that’s what I would like to see.And I totally agree and see where you’re coming from with the writing, even a story or poem. It takes time to write and a plan: a beginning, middle, and end. And like you said, sometimes you might need to rephrase it and find the right words to use.
