The thing is that it seems no one is willing to pay for the venue, much less paid for catering and drinks that’s one reason this is going nowhere.
I even thought of doing something like this in the US, but if I do it I would charge for entry to recoup the expenses.
Im not familair with the area or country but couldnt a nice pub be picked thats central and someone just say right im going to be in such a pub at such a time if anyone wants to join me.
To be fair I know as much about Birmingham as you do but there is such a thing as the internet. I really intend to organise this as it will be great to meet kindred spirits in a convivial setting plus it might silence some of the nay sayers on here. It can and it shall be arranged.
Any meet is going to require investment. Many will require overnight accommodation, meals, petrol, parking, maybe flights. Does £10 or so really mean the difference between meeting and not?!
My preference would be to meet in a private hall / room with bar available. Any food or onward events we can make up on the fly for those willing.Hi all Is there any more detail on this? admittedly i kinda said “im interested” way back when in a passive way but if theres something that could be happening i would consider it. For me, the midlands is completely doable, with the option of booking a hotel overnight.
Did this happen? I’d definitely love to attend something like this. I might be a bit late as I’ve only just joined but would love to attend anything arranged in the future M x
