So I’m new to the ABF/ANR space, but prior to this I have been trying to be more active in furry spaces and attending events since that is another interest of mine. I’m not expecting a ton of overlap, especially since furry demographics skew towards gay men (though believe me I know some of those guys would love to nurse from one another), but a huge adage of the furry community is being rather friendly to kink and other lifestyles. Has there ever been consideration from anyone here for local meetups in conjunction to furry events/conventions? Just a curiosity of mine, since I’ve been introduced to a lot of stuff and met a lot of people via furry, so I guess I’m coming into this with a furry perspective. Would love to hear other people’s thoughts!
I imagine its not common, as wouldn’t the costumes get in the way?!
I think there is more of a overlap with pet play, BDSM and fetish however, which is another part of the Venn diagram.
Monogamous, straight domme/sub is the majority demo. The psychological landscape is straight submissive males who are too submissive to receive female approval any other way, and straight dommes seeking shelter from a constantly felt intimidation, which their subs placate. That’s the “bond” you’ll hear about.
ANR/ABF is all about approval of the self, so, the extra identity layer, like Kitten so keenly deduced: just gets in the way. But, obviously, it gets in the way moreso psychologically than it does physically. The issue with furry here, is that no domme wants you to worship her in costume: they want you to worship *her,* period. Only that salves the burn. Hand-in-hand with that, the sub wants approval for their perceived self. They call this “bonding” and it’s as sacred to them as the Pope is to Catholics.
It’s all about identity building and reinforcement, and in this case, outfitting yourself for a day at Knott’s Berry Farm moves you further _from_ an idealized image of the loved and approved self, not closer to it. You’d be hard pressed to get the furry ball rolling around here.
In the minority you’ll find effectively the same meta in fewer f4f and even fewer straight dom/sub voices. Straight, insecure dommes and their would-be sycophants are collectively the loudest voice, ergo it is the moral ideology of that collective which sets the tone of this community.
ABF/ANR is frequently baby’s first fetish, so a lot of people are mid-journey or just starting out and still self-describe as vanilla and/or wanting vanilla + breastfeeding. Many participants don’t yet know they are here because they are submissive or afraid of men, so if you’d like to ingratiate yourself to the community here, one must tread lightly and go with the prevailing winds. Most are not ready to hear about themselves yet.
You will see the odd trans and unicorn-seeking couple, but by and large it’s blue pill night at the Olive Garden. And it’s amazing. Highly recommended community! Tell your furry friends! We’ve got a lot of free resources here, ergo a big desire to increase engagement. Do you like jigsaw puzzles?
