I think it would be cool to have some kind of feature that lets us know when people have viewed our profile, kind of like LinkedIn does.
It could be something simple, like showing how many profile views you’ve had that day/week, or even showing the people who viewed you with their picture blurred out or something, depending on privacy settings.
It would also be nice to have this for personal ads/posts. For example, being able to see how many people have clicked on or viewed your ad would give you an idea of whether people are actually seeing it.
It doesn’t necessarily have to show exactly who viewed everything. Even just having something like “Your profile was viewed 15 times this week” or “Your post has 350 views” would be useful.
Just seems like a simple feature that would make it easier to know whether your profile or posts are actually getting seen.
I think members would pay for this kind of feature and would probably help with website upkeep costs!
Not really sure why this would be useful tbh. People will either view profiles and get in touch or they won’t. If a users profile has had loads of views, but they very rarely get messages then that could be really disheartening because a counter won’t tell them the reason for the lack of content and it could just be something like location.
If your profile or ads aren’t attracting responses, then take a long, hard and honest look about the way you may be portraying yourself. Make your profile and ads about you as a person and less about how disappointing it is to have not had experiences.
Be optimistic – no-one is going to want to deal with years of jaded disappointment when they’re looking to start something fresh and new. Desperation, anger and disappointment are not attractive emotions, so maybe make things less about what hasn’t happened for you and more about what your hopes and dreams are about.
