    Ladies,

For the first time in 52 years of my life I am dealing with mastitis… It started out as a “bleb” (Google that if you are unsure) which looked like a white spot on my nipple. No matter how much I pump and hand express, I cannot get rid of this bleb. I even have had to lance it with a sterilized needle (recommended on internet). Lancing it released the trapped milk but it keeps returning. I then started having SEVERE pain in my breast. Went to the doctor to find out I have mastitis. Doctor looking at me like I’m CRAZY because I have milk at my age. They ran prolactin test, yes it’s high. I finally broke down and somewhat told the doctor that I’m lactating on purpose. He was about to send me to get a cat scan for a pituitary gland tumor so had to confess. I’ve been on antibiotics for 8 days. I’ve been pumping, hand expressing, hot compresses, cabbage leaves, and Epsom salt. It’s gotten better but today at work I ran to the bathroom and took off my bra!!! I cannot deal with the pressure on it. Good thing I’m wearing 3 different shirts, part of my uniform.

Any suggestions for any more relief!?!! I know if I had a partner this probably wouldn’t be happening!!! I could get some natural healing with a willing mouth!

Looking for ANY suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Many years ago, when I was nursing a baby, I had a nasty mastitis infection that I got rid of by drinking a shot of apple cider vinegar daily and using a warm poultice soaked in apple cider vinegar.

Grab a huge bowl you can find, enough to dip them in warm water to help relief trap milk, i’d hear it works well and also while your doing that used your hands to massage them while being in there to pull all that milk that was hard. A warm shower also helps, let the warm water just fall on them especially if you have a shower head massager, that will help🙏🙏♥️♥️ wish you the best and its beauitful a women your age can still produce🤗 its sooo amazing😘❤♥️😘

Bag Balm was originally used as a treatment for goat and cow mastitis almost exclusively, before it became known as folk remedy for other things. I have it in the medicine cabinet for any subcutaneous infection. I recommend bag balm application and warm compress on top of that however please consult your physician first. I would also recommend finding a midwife or lactation consultant in your area as well.

I wonder if sunflower lecithin would help thin the fluid out enough to help it clear? Just thinking out loud.

Marmet massage and a vibrator, no joke. Hand massage starting at the fullest part of the breast working towards the nipple, do the same with a vibrator, even better if you can do this after using a hot compress. Get some magnesium supplements to help boost your immune system.

This sounds horrible. And scares me to my core that I too might go thru this since I don’t have a suckler. I hope you get to feeling well soon and thank you for sharing your experience. Its good to be informed of what can go wrong
