I was just curious has anyone had their menstrual cycle stop while lactating? Honestly curious 🧐

I missed two periods since I’ve been relocating. Both the first month after restarting Dom

Thanks for responding because as I have been doing my search I came across that. I wasn’t sure if it was a pregnancy only thing or lactating in general.

Simple biology really. Lactation requires Estrogen and progesterone in order to be successful. Part of the reason most, not all women lactate after having a baby. During the third trimester of pregnancy a woman’s estradol should be between 43.8 – 211.0 and progesterone 58.7 – 214.8. While one is successfully lactating they should not be in an ovulation stage, though there’s no guarantee one couldn’t be if their hormone levels dropped for some reason, pregnancy could occur.

Hey ToT, do you take hormone replacement to keep your estrogen and progesterone levels up in order to lactate (and other good reasons too). Just wondering for the sake of the almost and post-menopausal gals here…

Not sure if this adds anything lol. I’ve been lactating for the last five plus years (due to pregnancy). Had no periods for about a year after birth. For the last four years I’ve had regular periods and still lactating. I guess we are all different. Wishing everyone well on their journeys ☺️🙏🏾 x
