    Do not fully agree @lolamayi12345.

Discussions are interesting, yes, but I draw a line at misogyny. Thats deep disrespect i dont want to listen to or deal with.

Interesting discussions start with mutual respect.

When are we going to learn not to judge a book by it’s cover!!
Just because women have tattoos your first thought is there much be something wrong with her, and all I can say is that’s profiling at it’s best.
But no one bats an eyelid when it’s on a male.
Tattoos are an expression of the individual same as they hobbies are. I know a few women with tattoos and they are the nicest, loveliest people I know.

And for the hygiene have you ever thought there could be a medical issue for them? As people we need to stay open minded and don’t judge over people!
We are all different people here but we must look beyond the physical get to know the person for who they are ourselves!
You can honestly miss the love of your life if you think like this.

Personally I think if you need a tutorial on how to avoid or get a person then you have no hope. And as for people with unskilled mouths WE all have to start somewhere right? and learn!

What I got out of that video was the fact that men are visual creatures. There is no getting around that. A smart woman recognizes that and stores that away in her toolbox. Granted, there are men like the sparrows I used for illustration or like the men I reported on in the military. And I know for a fact that men act and talk differently when there are no women around. I had just retired from a facility where everyone had a PhD, both men and women. In fact my department head was a woman with a double PhD. She was amazing and I enjoyed my interactions with her. That to say, when I took that blue collar job, it was an eye opener.

My apologies for the video. From my perspective it was relating that men are visually oriented.

We all go through life viewing it from a preset grid of presuppositions. Nearly everyone inherited those presuppositions from their parents, the circle of friends, the culture you grew up in during your “developing years.” Almost no one ever takes an inventory of one’s presuppositions let alone questions them and tests their validity, rooting out the bad and replacing them with reasoned good ones. Generally this is known as one’s “world view.”

As an example, let us take an majorly obese individual. Both men and women, for the most part, presume they are that way because ofa lack of fortitudinous restraint. I believe the movie title was, “The Whale,” of which I enjoyed. Now that conclusion may have a personal experiential basis. Or it may have come from a Hollywood mindset. Others may understand it as genetic battle being waged, not a lack of discipline. For generations, like many animals, people put on weight to survive the winter months and/or not knowing when their next meal would come available. So there is a history of there being a genetic makeup of carrying weight that our present American culture does not have.

We all have our “world views.” We all have our presuppositions as has been evident by the responses to this video. Some are justified some are not. But tell me, is it not true that people largely judge others from first impressions? Also, tell me, is it not true that we all have likes and dislikes. That is evidenced by all the different types, colors, makes of vehicles. Men often make car purchases to cast an image as much as for utility. Women chose their makeup, their purses, etc to project the image they want others to view them as.

The whole point of that video, IMHO, was that men are visual creatures and the conclusions they draw are from a presuppositional formulation.

Now, a valid point was made. Perhaps this thread should be about discernment. How are we able to judge an individual very early on when personal safety is at stake? That’s a great question of which even men today need to address even though most men rush in when the door is opened without considering what might be on the other side awaiting them. An example would be the reported pandemic of syphilis in Seattle and chlamydia in Michigan. Who knew, right? These are all fair questions and would make for great discussion.

    How discerning am I?
    1. Avoid men like those in the video. No question. Gross.
    2. I would never be with a man where I didn’t feel respected. Sensuality and connection is important, hygiene matters, but if you cannot respect me as a feminist (read that as equal rights), then we would never ever work.

That is very difficult to achieve from only chatting online. In truth, it’s much easier to be misread online. For me, you have to meet up some place public, not for dinner or even lunch. Just to meet, chat a bit and then if you feel comfortable, allow it to proceed. Walmart wouldn’t be a bad place to meet because EVERY thing is recorded and there is always one or two security officers on duty. Just my .02.

Since I value connection, I’d want to feel that before I’d waste my time meeting anywhere. I’ve chatted with guys for a bit and then had some really disrespectful convos come my way.

Security is a big deal to me, but Walmart wouldn’t be my choice of a place to meet a man. If I can’t feel safe meeting him at Starbucks, then I shouldn’t be meeting him at all.
