What is something you miss from your childhood, teenage years. Just from life in general.
Mine is the freedom from gadgets and been always contactable.
I miss….
Having dozens of telephone numbers of friends/family simply memorized. Now? None.
Collecting milk from the doorstep early morning to get the creamy top for my cereal.
Buying bras for my partner in a real shop (Bravissimo, London). Now? Online. Boring.Going out drinking and not having a hangover the next day, unfortunately this didn’t last long.
Mine is that nieve look at the world and not seeing it for what it is. The excitement of something new or thinking, or at the very least, this feeling will never go.
Sometimes it comes back but life takes over. Its nice to walk out your house or car and see a beautiful sunset 🌇 and feel that all again
I miss how easy it was to meet up with friends back then, when everyone was either at the same school or just down the road. I lost touch with the vast majority of the people I knew back then for one reason or another and for even my college friends with their own families and everything it’s hard to meet up casually for simple hangouts, everything needs to be planned out ahead of time.
I miss the freedom of being a kid and not planning for much of anything. Whether with friends or alone: Biking, fishing, making sandcastles, exploring new trails, stargazing, basketball, baseball, foursquare, tennis, it all seemed to happen so naturally without worry of the hecticisms we often endure as adults.
And like @juicyboobies inferred about not being tethered to modern tech., yeah, that. So every once in a while, I just leave it behind.
The feeling that I really got away with something when my brother’s playboy magazine would arrive in the mail. It had a brown paper wrapper back then. I would slide out the playboy and peruse it, making sure it was back in the wrapper before he got home from college or work.😜
Saturday morning cartoons, or the morning lineup of TV when you stay home sick from school. Price is Right just isn’t the same nowadays, lol.
Meeting friends in person. Having long discussions and at times heated arguments.
Remembering and dialing phone numbers.
Remembering addresses and directions. Going by memory, using map. Finding new routes. Remembering all vantage points on the rout. Now GPS took out all fun and excitement out of road trip.I miss everything not being political. We are so divided now and the world is not as peaceful as it once was.
