Six men claim to know the woman in red silk. One is pricing moving vans. Another swears she’s dead. And someone really should have checked the mirror.

    1. Aww, thank you, Sparkling! 🩷 This made me smile. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! And I have a feeling quite a few familiar faces may wander into the story eventually… no one is safe. 😂🌺

        1. 😂 No coins required, I promise. I can’t make any guarantees about the 300 chapters though. I’m having entirely too much fun with this. And I do rather like knowing I’ve got you 🪝! 😘

  1. From my perspective, comparing Lola May to VelvetRouge is like comparing a golden retriever to a golden retriever that has somehow learned lock-picking, psychological warfare and advanced stage magic. They’re ridiculously alike in all the dangerous ways. Both are funny, quick-witted, observant, and capable of reducing a room full of grown adults to silence with a single well-timed sentence.

They both have that infuriating ability to spot nonsense from three counties away and immediately start poking it with a stick. The difference is that Lola sees chaos and comments on it. VelvetRouge sees chaos and appears to be running it from a secret control room somewhere.

Lola is the woman standing in the audience shouting, “You idiots, what are you doing?” while twelve men try to marry a profile picture. VelvetRouge is the woman who quietly uploaded the profile picture, lit the fuse and went off to make tea while the explosion unfolded exactly as planned.

If Lola is Sherlock Holmes armed with sarcasm and common sense, VelvetRouge is Moriarty after three glasses of wine and a mischievous grin. The resemblance is so strong that if these two women ever stood side by side then half the site would assume they were sisters while the other half would be frantically checking whether they were actually the same person using two different accounts.

The truth is that Lola is VelvetRouge with better life choices and fewer mysterious disappearances… although after Episode One, I’m not entirely convinced of even that.

  2. My Favourite Moment is the line “Michael had apparently mistaken refusing to answer for ending the conversation. Rookie mistake.” and at that exact moment every reader knows Michael is doomed as Lola is now investigating and there is no escaping.

Michael could move to another continent and Lola would still be in his inbox asking follow-up questions!

    1. Good grief, Triton 😘! I feel simultaneously complimented, exposed and just a tiny bit concerned about how closely you’ve been studying me.😉

“Lola sees chaos and comments on it” is SLANDER, however. Sometimes I poke it. Occasionally I encourage it. And apparently now I turn it into a soap opera.🤓

I’m not entirely sure whether being described as VelvetRouge with better life choices is a compliment or a warning, but the woman has a secret control room and knows psychological warfare, so I’m taking it!

And the Michael observation is painfully accurate. Refusing to answer absolutely does not make me less curious. It just gives me a new question, “Why aren’t you answering?”

Also, poor Paul. One episode in and you’ve already convicted the poor man! 😳

Although I do find it interesting that you’ve had quite a lot to say about everyone else’s behavior while remaining suspiciously quiet about your own little role in all of this, Mr. Triton. I wouldn’t get too comfortable just yet.😎😘❤️
