Welcome back, everyone. Can you believe it? We are headed into week 4 of my blog. Thank you for your continued interest and support. Your comments and questions help inform the topics that I should be tackling next.
Today, I wanted to address the following: clogged ducts, engorgement, and mastitis. This inducing journey while offering many rewards carries with it some risks.

Thank you Rose for useful information for lactating women. The link about the effect of chilled cabbage leaves does not work for me. Hopefully it works for others.
Thanks for pointing that out, James.
Hi James,
I fixed the URL.
Thank you!
Great post Rose! I was lucky enough to not get mastitis either over the years! I hope I never have to experience this 😳 I had a few friends that ended up with it and said it was awful!!
When I was weaning my kids I always hopped in a nice hot shower where I’d hand express a little just to ‘take the edge off’ 😂😂
My mum always swore by the frozen cabbage leaf method!
Thank you Kazzie for that mental image of you in the shower hand expressing your beautiful breasts. So wonderful.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I didn’t say it for that purpose but glad I could help I guess 😂😂
I also was lucky enough never to encounter mastitis….. I’ve heard it’s terrible and I’m such a baby when it comes to pain so I’d probably still be crying about it now 😂
Rooosseee!!! The tattoos!!!! Absolutely beautiful!!! Love love love them ❤️
Thank you Rose!
I can’t even imagine the amount of pain and discomfort you ladies go through with some of these issues.
I had heard about cabbage being a bit of a desiccant, though I am shocked at how it works for engorgement. It truly is fascinating!
Thank you for the information rose! You are a Goddess! Much love and best wishes to you!
Thanks for week 4 – I’ll continue to try to read the next one.
Thank you Rose, really informative.
I was fortunate in my 3 years feeding to not have mastitis or blocked ducts, only occasional engorgment as weaning and initial milk coming In, quickly relieved by putting little one to breast or few times partner until ease.
I didn’t know about ANR at the time and he certainly didn’t have suckling experience! The relief in engorgment was replaced with sore nipples!
Owie, I’m currently dealing with this sort of thing. My Baby Buddha is currently pulling out gelatinous masses. I believe this is tied to unintentionally drying up.
