I field a million of the same questions about pumping. I’d like to help de mystify the process along with the why/how.
I work full time and I make time every 3 hours to pump for 20-30min and sometimes power pump for an hour 20/on, 10/off, 10/on, repeat. It mimics cluster feeding.
When I’m on I have drops and have seen a stream or two. When I’m off, they are off. With said if I don’t pump, I wouldn’t have any output.
When I’m with a partner they take the place of the pump and try to mimic the schedule as much as possible. Throwing in some pumps sessions as needed.
I use a Medela pump, top of the line and hospital grade.
I was asked for and posted a few shots post pump which I just did. I love my nipples post pump 🤩
Any questions or thoughts? I’m sure I’ll get LOTS of private responses.
