First conversations are exciting because you want to get to know each other, but it can also feel a bit like an interview.
Do you have a question or opening gambit that seems to allow the conversation to flow naturally without putting the other person on the spot? Alternatively are there questions you can’t stand?
I’ve personally stopped asking what people do for work because we are so much more than that and now favour the question: what do you spend your time and energy on at the moment. I feel it leaves the door open to answering about anything, sport, hobbies, projects, family time, (or work). Feedback welcome!
June 24, 2025 at 8:59 pm #598146I think that’s a great opening question Jay! Guys, please refrain from asking how long women have been into anr/abf or what got us interested! As soon as I get one of those questions I lose interest.
June 25, 2025 at 12:38 am #598223MidwestMilkmaid why is asking what got you into ABF an issue??

June 25, 2025 at 7:09 am #598291@quietstorm I’m curious to know your thoughts on that question before @midwestmilkmaid answers.
June 25, 2025 at 12:15 pm #598383Asking whether they enjoy pineapple on pizza early on in a message exchange will either stop conversation dead or open a land to milk and honey.
June 25, 2025 at 5:41 pm #598555I love to find out what sparks someone’s interest in this lifestyle. As we have all found out it is so unique. What drives their desire for this level of intimacy. I’ve found the subject is a catalyst for deep organic conversation.
Clowie- I would love the question. I’m big on “what is your favorite cereal”. It does tell so much about a person 🤪
June 25, 2025 at 8:25 pm #598653@bellabelle that cereal one is brilliant!
@clowie I love the pineapple questions, I’ve actually used that myself. I tend to frame it as, “I know people don’t like to talk about politics off the bat, but where do you stand on pineapple and pizza?”July 4, 2025 at 7:57 pm #602918What if we don’t like cereal?
July 22, 2025 at 1:09 pm #610355@Jay I’ve always liked a good story, everyone has at least 2 or 3 to tell. So to me that question breaks the ice to exchange and talk about your experiences. You tell a story then I tell a story and you get to know and learn about that person and maybe be exposed to something or an experience you’ve never had or would be intrigued to try.
But thats my opinion
