I recently picked up a new hobby called acro. It’s a really fun and challenging activity involving balances, holds and lifts in pairs or groups. The hard part is that I have to show up to classes and open session solo!
As an adult it can be hard and awkward to make new friends, especially in environments where the community is tight knit and knows each other already. I feel proud of myself for making it work by introducing myself to new people and getting stuck in. It has certainly tested the limits of my (dis)comfort!
What have you done lately that’s stretched your boundaries?

I reached out to someone I hadn’t spoken to for two years. I apologised, sincerely, for behaving badly at that time, and asked for a reconciliation.
Why is it scary? Because you are sorry for what you did, genuinely, so if they now choose to ignore & reject your apology, you’ll feel even worse.
If you don’t really care, it’s not scary.
May 25, 2025 at 2:23 am #583176I chase down cows at high speeds and turn them on the fence or wall. If your timing is off, the horse and cow will get tangled resulting in a bad wreck.
May 25, 2025 at 3:05 am #583196That takes the cake for sure. I always thought Chasing cows on a quad or pick up was scary enough.
May 25, 2025 at 3:48 am #583205Stopped someone from assaulting someone even though I can’t see, because it was the right thing to do.
May 25, 2025 at 8:15 am #583318Mine is less adrenalin rushing but more relevant to me. I had to stand in front of 200 people and do a presentation.
May 28, 2025 at 11:00 am #585062Tracking bear who had hit by car. We didnt find it, but it was quite wentfull day and night.
May 31, 2025 at 9:31 am #586659I booked driving lessons for a motorcycle. Been wanting this for decades, never had the opportunity to follow up. Always the passenger, never the driver. Now I am taking matters into my own hands.
My partner passed away and life is short. After years of worries and taking care of him and the boys (who were 13 and 17 back then) and working fulltime I really do enjoy a new life. Boys are grown and gone, me time now.So I guess the scary part is not about the motorcycle ( I know I can do that, I love driving and travelling and being free) but its about finding myself again. That playful, funny bright girl thats still in there and finally free her.
May 31, 2025 at 4:00 pm #586756I went swimming with sharks in Florida recently. Big Bull Sharks and Hammerheads. No cage. Helped overcome an intense fear of sharks as a surfer and swimmer that grew up with the movie Jaws and James Bond movies where he always seemed to get attacked by sharks in a pool. I had this completely irrational fear while swimming in a pool, particularly if I were alone, that a shark would come out of one of the grates and attack me.
