Spent years sailing and coaching teams on One Designs. Qualified for Hobie 14 and 16 women’s and open championships twice.One of my students made it to the Olympics.
On a grant I worked at the National Museum of Ireland in the textiles department when the collection was moved to its present location. In those months in Dublin I grew into a Celtic Revival artist and traditional musician. Oh, and had a seriously good time!
As a journalist I not only shot high school sports in bad neighborhoods but gave the kids in those schools something to be proud of-themselves. I was also the go to photog covering demonstrations for teachers strikes, Occupy and Mental Health issues.Oh yes, anything to do with Trump.You could usually find me with the Socialist papers and the lawyers, why? They were the best at watching your back.
What I am most proud of…the end of my 28 years in public health nursing. I am a whistleblower and was forced into retirement. There was no reward, no protection but I did what was needed I stood up for 50,000 employees 500,000 students. I would do it again in a second.
Thank you for sharing….Those are amazing experiences. I applaud the courage it had to have taken to speak out against an unfair system. Way to go!!
