I understand when people are searching for someone in a certain age group or in a certain race. But, when you are chatting away, things seem good, and you use the word “disabled”, people panic. LOL
The word disabled covers everything and means nothing if you don’t ask. No, I don’t put it my profile, but it is one of the first things I disclose. But like the last interaction I had, the woman seemed appalled when I stated that I was disabled.
She will not know how I’m diasbled, because she didn’t say, “Oh, how come” or something like that. I worked 40-years for the government. That I have had six anr’s, and the first one lasted 18 months, how, because she thought I was good. And three others were from other states and would visit often. Because they thought I was good.
So ask, don’t assume.
Disable does not mean person is inactive or depending on someone. I knew many who lives normal life with their disability. Few are more active then normal people in their age group!
Some do work full time job too.
