Do any of the U.K. based Females load their location on to the Map. Just checked 5 location near to me & a Big Fat Zero. 🤷🏻♂️ 🤔
Hi, illuminati, I think the maps have not been very successful, to be honest. Most people don’t bother. I thought it might be a good idea when I did it, when I set the maps up like that, but I was wrong.
Part of the problem is they look so plain & ugly. Due to my zero graphic/design skills. If someone could step forward to help?
I might consider simply going through all profiles and adding them manually myself, but takes time. Prefer that users add themself, they have a much better idea of which map location-number is closest to them. Might ask a member to help me by messaging everyone who has not added themself & requesting they do so. Might work.
Anyway, it’s on my to-do list.

Thanks Leonie, yes that’s exactly the right thing to do. The maps are supposed to show who is in a “general area”. At least, they would if more people bothered to do what you did. 🙂
Interestingly enough there’s a few Americans who’ve ended up on the UK map (in Scotland) and at least one lady from the UK who’s on the USA one! So I would suggest that if you do put your number on the map, make sure it’s on the right one!
Michael, if you want more people to use the maps – turn them into jigsaws! I’m joking, but there may be some mileage in that idea!
I had a rough time deciding which one would be best to add myself too so had a look at both lists to chat with local people
I think it’s a useful tool – Thats of course if everyone was use it. A rough or closest location would narrow it down as I’m sure most are prepared to travel- other than maybe the very large cities we’re not likely to find someone in our own villages 🤷🏻♂️ Though would be Convenient.
r256, yes LOTS of people seem to just pick a random number when they register, with quite a few including both a USA and a UK number. Bizarre.
An idea I have to make the maps simply more interesting & nicer to look at, it to make them similar to those old “pictorial” maps, which depicted wildlife etc. I mean fill them with masses of ABF “stuff” …funny. quirky, interesting, imagery related to ABF. So long as the number locations are there then the functionality is covered, but it would make the background nice to look at, to pore over, spot all the funny detail etc.
But that takes an artistic person to create, with digital art skills. And that’s not me unfortunately.
