I sometimes receive messages from users who think their profile pic has been stolen and is being used by another member. Don’t panic, this is not the case, it is simply a rather unfortunate quirk of how the Private Messaging system deals with deleted users.
It works like this:
Example…..
1 – a member sends you a PM
2 – you see their pic alongside the message
3 – at some point thereafter, they delete their account
4 – the system still shows you the messages sent by them, but because they no longer have an avatar/pic to display, the system puts YOUR pic alongside their messages.
So it looks like they are somehow using your pic, but that’s not the case. It is simply the system indicating to you that they are no longer a member. You can safely ignore it.

Thank you for the explanation. I’ve been wondering, it has been a bit confounding. Based on the interaction with those members, it’s not surprising they were either removed or closed their account….guessing the latter.
Michael,
Thank you Sir, you are always very prompt with your responses and that is very reassuring. Thank you!!!
