InactiveCurious about opinions on pumping consistency. I understand that its vitally important to pump on schedule consistently however,if schedule doesn’t allow that would some pumping be better than no pumping? My thought would be that any stimulation would be beneficial. What are your thoughts?

July 26, 2025 at 5:46 pm #611790Even if it’s just 5 minutes, do it!
It can be a little tedious for sure. I just put my handsfree in my bra as I do my makeup or when I cook after work.
My pump schedule:
6 am – 20 min
12 pm – 10 minutes
6 pm – 10-30 min
9 pm – 15 minSome times I only get 3-5 min sessions but all of this is like a baseline. I allow error, life, and limitations to come as they will. If I need to push anything back then I will. If I can only massage or stimulate my nipples, then I just do what I can!
It’s a marathon, not a race!
July 26, 2025 at 9:22 pm #611831@blueberrykiwi3 can you confirm or deny this?:
If a woman pumps 3 times a day for 20 minutes each time OR twice a day for 30 min each time, plus using supplements and eating essential foods, hydration and sleep, she’ll get a supply in 2 and a half months.

InactiveYou could also try a TENS Unit. It’s more discrete than a pump. But they are really better for inducing prior to milk actually coming in. Also, massage is great stimulation when you can’t pump.

InactiveThanks again everyone, and yes I love and use my TENS unit.
July 31, 2025 at 11:13 pm #613991True to an extent! I’m coming up on two months! Just like medicine… Everyone’s body will react differently. Hormones, supplements, mental health medication, diets, and the list goes on for what could potentially progress or hinder the journey.
I do have some milk but not a whole lot as of my two mths. Now, I have been able to produce milk without being pregnant over the years, so there is a little bit of an advantage. 3 months is a good marker and goal. Those extra days do a whole lot!

InactiveMy investment in my hands free/wearable pump has been a game changer for sure because I can do it on my way to work and back and then on my lunch. I am confused because some people say don’t do pumping because it confuses the brain ?
August 5, 2025 at 11:36 am #616069agreed, I use it while I work and type at home and find it relaxing
