InactiveHello, I’m wondering if anyone else who uses an Elvie Stride double pump has had any issues with loss of suction?
My Elvie Stride is convenient and pleasurable to use, however I’ve recently had a problem with loss of suction in just one of the collection cups. When I take it apart and put it back together, it normally solves the problem temporarily, however it keeps happening, especially when I turn up the power. I often hear a popping sound as one of the seals comes loose and the suction is pretty much lost until I take it apart and put it back together, which interrupts my pumping session
Has anyone else encountered this problem and have you found a more long term fix than taking it apart and putting it back together?
Thankyou in advance of any helpful advice 😊

InactiveMy guess was going to be a problewith the seals. It could be that the tube that goes into that cup is not fully inserted. I’ve had the tubes pop off before

InactiveThanks Jessica, it’s not the tubes on mine it’s the seals, so it’s always easy to fix in the short term, it’s just annoying that it keeps happening 🙄 just wondering if anyone has come up with a long term solution.
November 9, 2023 at 8:51 pm #354975Rachy, I think you can contact Elvie and get new parts. I assume they break down over time and lose their elasticity. I had that problem with the Willow and they identified what was wrong & then replaced parts at no cost.
November 9, 2023 at 10:00 pm #355005Elvie has a published list of their parts and how often they should be replaced for optimal function. Some of them are part of typical wear and tear and they expect you to buy. Others you can get free replacement depending on the warranty.

InactiveAhh, okay. Thanks Yogi and Rose, sorry I don’t know how to tag people 🙈 I will check that out.

InactiveAgreed with the above. The only time I lose suction on one of my pumps is when I need new parts. Thankfully the parts last much longer given I don’t produce like a new mother, but still, replacing parts can be so expensive!

InactiveI had to just replace the parts on my baby buddah after a year of regular use. Thankfully they were on sale because unless you use a Spectra, Medela, or Lansinoh the pump parts can be expensive!

InactiveThanks ladies, I’ve ordered some spare parts now 😊

InactiveMy new parts have arrived, so now my pump is working perfectly again 😊 such a relief to have it back up and running properly, having to make do with other ones that don’t feel as nice to use, just to ease the discomfort, was a pain in the arse. Reminded me how much I valued having a partner that was so amazing at suckling.

InactiveThat’s great that is up and running again. Yes though, having a great suckler is always the best

InactiveDefinitely, Jessica. I struck gold with my former ANR partner. He spoilt me far too much and now every poor guy who latches on has impossibly high standards to live up to 😭

InactiveWell, at least you know what you are looking for in an ANR now.

InactiveHaha, if only it was as simple as having a set of requirements 😂😭 I could spend my whole life looking for a connection, chemistry and friendship like that and never find what I stumbled upon completely by chance when I messaged him on a whim on my first day on this site. I just count myself extremely lucky to have had that amazing, life changing experience, even though it lasted for a much shorter time than I would have liked.
