So, im trying to relacated after having breastfeed 4 kids.
My husband has been playing with my nipples every morning when we wake up and go to bed . Same time basiclly everyday if that matters. He has suckled them but not for very long which i think could be the issue.
They are more swollen and darker snd my nipples are longer and bigger. I had whst seemed to be colostrum but no milk yet.
Suggestions please. I purchased a pump today to see if that helpsJuly 13, 2021 at 12:52 am #17538Consistency… time and commitment and a schedule.
I used to nurse with my partner every 2 hours for 15-20 mins on each breast.Pump helps but having your hubby nurse from you would be better.
If you are going to be using your pump more often than having your husband help you then you need to be careful not to overpump it could make your nipples peal and that could be very painful.
There are supplements as well that will help you bring your milk in.Best of luck 😊
July 13, 2021 at 12:55 am #17539Which supplements help? I had one and it seems it did the opposite. I tossed them out lol.

InactiveBlessed Thistle and Fenugreek are the two main supplements recommended for increasing production once milk has come in (although fenugreek can have the reverse effect for some women). Other herbs are Moringa, Shatavari, Alfalfa, torbangun, Fennel, and Goat’s Rue. Oatmeal and Brewer’s Yeast, also help increase production. Its recommended to eat oatmeal at least 3x/week and there are lots of recipes online for “Lactation cookies.” Sunflower Lethicin is used for plugged ducts/Mastitis. Most of these herbs are taken once milk comes in, though I believe Goat’s Rue and alfalfa may be taken before milk comes in to help prepare the breast tissue
prior to milk coming in. Oregano, mint, and parsley can actually inhibit production in large quantities. In additional to the herbal galactagogues there are pharmaceuticals like domperidone, which help to bring in milk rather quickly, but depending on what country you are in, may be difficult to source. There is a potential for side effects or allergies to any of these suggestions.July 13, 2021 at 1:34 am #17541Anonymous
InactiveYou only produce colostrum if you are pregnant. The thick substance you see is your milk ducts cleaning out. In order to produce milk, you need to either increase the frequency of stimulation by suckling, massaging/expressing, pumping, or TENS unit more frequently throughout the day OR by doing power suckling/pumping just twice a day. Two short suckling sessions will likely not be enough to see good results in a timely fashion or result in any quantity of milk. As others have said, you also don’t want to do too much and become sore. Also, consistently pumping on a regular schedule will yield the best results. Lactation is a supply and demand game. If you want to produce faster, domperidone is an option and using hormones, like in the Newman Goldfarb protocols will also help. Otherwise, just stick with the suckling and you’ll get there in time. Please let me know if you have any questions. I’m happy to try and answer them for you.

InactiveOh….I was reading your last post….it sounds like you are so close…..with what looked like colostrum to you. Keep it up….be consistent….like the others said….Goats Rue is great…..Shatavari is amazing and so is Moringa. Please stay away from any mint things. I relactated 26 years after breastfeeding my 4 kids. It is possible. You’re much younger then I am…..Drink lots of water…. Brew some Mother’s Milk Tea….YOU CAN DO THIS..! ! ! : )

InactiveHiii!!
I suggest Domperidone!! I tried for 5-6 months and not much more then what you describe, until I bought some Domperidone!! Then I flowed with milk!!
It can be done with out Domperidone but if you are looking for ounces and lots of milk that is my suggestion!!
Good luck 🦋July 13, 2021 at 4:16 pm #17577Hello! Where did you get domperidone?
Thanks!July 13, 2021 at 5:18 pm #17585I didn’t get any i heard it has some serious side effects
July 13, 2021 at 6:32 pm #17588The Lactation Station podcast is also an awesome resource as well.
Like everyone said consistency is key.
July 13, 2021 at 7:20 pm #17589I’ve placed 2 orders through
https://www.inhousepharmacy.vu/
Look at dosing, you’ll need a lot, as you step up quite quickly to 8 a day if you follow certain protocols. They take anywhere from 3-6 weeks to arrive so plan accordingly on that as well. I ran out between orders, so I had to drop my dose so I didn’t run out.July 13, 2021 at 11:24 pm #17593Anonymous
InactiveYes I’ve been in Domperidone for about 4 yrs with no side affects!! There are conflicting reports on it.. I also agree lactation station podcast is great!! There are many many women who have taken Dom and had no issues!! I’ve also bought from in-house pharmacy. Also EBay but the quality the guy sells isn’t that great.. I found lots of information on fetlife. As well as references on where to purchase. I’m currently out!! And awaiting a delivery!!
