I realised today the deepest intimacy is not always found in what two people do, but in the trust that allows them to be vulnerable with each other without fear of rejection.
That’s a great revelation Alex, the fear of rejection keeps people from not interacting socially as well and it’s a very lonely place..
Even if there is a chance of getting rejected, there is also a chance that things will work out.
Nothing ventured nothing gained .
Sex is sometimes called “intimacy” but there is plenty of transactional, unintimate sex. Hiding our vulnerbilities while starving to be seen, afraid of our true selves being rejected, and then we shrivel from lack of connection. Like that Alex? Argh!!! What a state of human experience. Slowing things down, dropping into connection with ourselves, taking the time to really feel the person next to you, actual intimacy and connection is overridden by the rush of biology. Sigh. Here we are.
