In many anr groups i’ve been a part of one of the most popular questions is, “What got you interested in ANR?”, for the longest time I wasn’t sure. While I was on Facebook today I came across a post from someone I dated in high school. This brought back memories of our relationship. The school we went to was a school for the blind, which meant it was a residential school. We would stay there during the week and go home for the weekends. This allowed us to spend a lot of time together. Since we were in the same residence on different floors we were almost inseparable. We would spend a lot of time talking about our future. One evening the subject of family came up, and I asked her if she thought about kids, she said that she’d like to have a family some day. She told me that she was taking a family studies class and that they were studying the parent child relationship, and the importance of the bond between mother and child. She told me that she wanted to breast feed and let the children nurse for as long as they wanted. She said that it strengthened the mother child bond. One evening I asked her if she thought if nursing could strengthen the bond between partners, she didn’t know but was willing to try. From then on she would let me nurse and would tell me stories or dreams she had about us.
