I have this dream scenario I’ve always wanted to do – want to share with everyone. It’s quite simple but I think that’s why I want it so much:
I dream of renting a cabin somewhere remote with someone. Somewhere with mountains, like Wyoming, Montana, the Dakotas, Colorado.
I want this cabin to be old, with old appliances and no internet. I want to be away from technology completely, let’s lock our phones in the closet and just exist together. Books are allowed though! Ideally there’s a fireplace to keep it warm we can read by.
I want there to be a private or secluded lake we can slip away into at night. Sure we can enjoy it in the day, but let’s go skinny dipping at night together.
And throughout all of it lets cook real good food from scratch. No frozen pizzas, let’s live a simple quiet week or weekend like how things used to be before phones invaded our minds 24/7.
Let’s nurse on the cozy couch, on the wooden bed, in the old shower with steam covering the bathroom. Let’s enjoy each other’s warmth, let’s talk about our past and future. Let’s enjoy silence together away from everything.
Some people want to vacation somewhere stimulating like Vegas or New York (I do love New York so I understand that one). But I want to get away with someone and just be present there, not connected to all the shit going on in the world all at once.

This sounds wonderful! And also the type of vacation I’d enjoy! To me the point of going on vacation is to get away from the hustle and bustle.
