On Abf heaven we enjoyed a coiple of marvellous music puzzles lately, which made me wonder if there’s such a thing as suckle music. Whats your favourite? Can we come up with some milky music? Maybe put together a playlist?
Do you prefer music ( and what music) during suckling? Or is it just the Sound of silence? Or The Birds when suckling outdoors? Any thoughts?September 24, 2025 at 5:08 pm #639267This …
September 24, 2025 at 5:37 pm #639279Piano music for sure, my favorite is “at the end of our exploring” by max Richter
September 24, 2025 at 5:48 pm #639282The sounds of nature definitely rank high on my list.
September 24, 2025 at 6:07 pm #639285Haha, The Sound of Silence is a great song, but I don’t know if it’s nursing music.

September 24, 2025 at 7:29 pm #639327There is something about this song that tugs at my soul. And I believe it is even more powerful in the arena of the sharing and giving that we cling to so desperately. I think about staring into her sweet, loving eyes so deeply as I nurse and am taken to a place far away that is so calm, peaceful, and loving. The name of the song is In Ypur Eyes, by Peter Gabriel https://petergabriel.com/video/peter-gabriel-in-your-eyes/. I am there now just thinking about it.
September 24, 2025 at 10:14 pm #639414I like gentle jazz, preferably either guitar or piano but anything dreamy and relaxing will do. After a few minutes of suckling I tend not to be actively listening though, it is there but way off in the distance.
September 25, 2025 at 2:41 am #639458I have to agree with Grog, nursing in the outdoors with the sounds of nature in the background is the best. Listening to trees rustling in a soft breeze, birds chirping, ect
September 25, 2025 at 4:30 am #639490For background sounds while nursing, I love the selections of a Music Choice channel called Relaxing Vibes. One track I heard again the other day that I really enjoy is “In The Zone” by DJ Zen, from the 2008 album The Zen Zone.
September 25, 2025 at 9:59 am #639610@jacob: I didnt mean the song. I am a geek when it comes to language. I meant not only a playlist, but also songs or titels that refer to abf. In this particular case I meant silence, no music, so no sound. The Byrds is a band. I meant the sound of real birds in nature, cause I love outdoor nursing
September 25, 2025 at 2:28 pm #639674@dairydaisy I knew what you meant, I’m sorry if I misrepresented that. Was just a tongue in cheek comment. When I read the words “sound of silence” I heard the lyrics in my head, rather than a thought of actual silence.
Since I owe you a true answer. I would say some soft music, I still want to hear and feel her breath, and her mine, but I don’t want that to dominate. Silence would be interesting, but I feel like both would have to wear ear plugs or headphones, to really get the silence aspect.
September 25, 2025 at 4:01 pm #639688@Jacob lol! I am trying to visualize the silent disco when nursing hahahaha!
October 11, 2025 at 7:07 pm #647728Gerry Mulligan’s Night Lights album. “Idle Moments” off the album of the same name by Grant Green. Flamenco Sketches off Miles Davis Kind of Blue album. Autumn Leaves off Cannonball Adderly’s Something Else album. Claire De Lune by Debussy. Just to name a few.
October 12, 2025 at 5:25 am #647954Thank you for all of your suggestions, since the outdoor season ( which I love so much!!) Is coming to an end over here.
