Happy ending is just being happy.
In terms of some of the previous comments I just want to add a little bluntly:
A chat room is a chat room and anyone can have a say in it no matter what the previous topic was/is.
I was once lambasted via DM about just wanting to engage with the room by joining in on an ongoing conversation by saying they had had a shitty day and did not need āmeā to make it even worse by adding in my 2 cents in the chat room. They had been having a great conversation until I joined in apparently.
When I understood that they were upset with me I apologized and said it wasnāt my intention to ruin their day and apologized again if that was the case then I was told it isnāt a real apology because I said āthat wasnāt my intentionā. My apology wasnāt accepted that day. I still do not know what I did that required such a show downā¦.it just was such a difficult time for me as I was dealing with grief as wellā¦in addition to all this and the user knew that as I had said it in the chat room..
Ah well itās old history anyway itās better to stay in oneās lane. I checked with Michael the next day about this and he said itās a chat room anyone can chime in at any time and nobody has to wait for others to finish what they are talking about etc.
I was encouraged by his advice because that helped me a lot that I had not done anything wrong by joining an existing conversation. Therefore I always encourage anyone joining and am ready to be what I am meant to be no matter what other people have said to me in the past. I try to stand up for myself and make changes still keeping together my values of being kind but I sometimes have to stand up for myself especially if something like that happens again. So I try to help others find their voice too and not suffer in silence..
Michael has been a great support to know what the rules are and that has helped ease me through each transition. As have other wonderful people here but it is difficult because we donāt really expect that kind of behavior out of the blue coming at us and we arenāt really prepared to handle it. It is quite traumatic tbh.
But standing up to it helps one feel less powerless. So I am all for self expression and finding your power. As Lola said long back in another forum post, this behavior has to be called out and canāt be swept under the rugs.
Best to all,
SinOctober 20, 2026 at 5:02 pm #831112Exactly, Gih! š Brazil isnāt exactly a surprise destination. If someone isnāt willing to travel, why pretend otherwise? Thereās nothing wrong with wanting a few pictures or some naughty conversation, but donāt dangle the possibility of a relationship just to get them. I donāt blame you one bit for hitting that block button! ā¤ļø
October 20, 2026 at 5:04 pm #831114Henrique, a Catfish ABF Edition could be quite entertaining! I do hate that youāve formed such a disappointing impression in just 48 hours, though. There are some genuinely lovely people here, and I hope youāll get to know them. I agree that calling out bad behavior and helping people navigate the site matters, but I wouldnāt want the worst examples to define the whole community. And no need to apologize on behalf of all men. Everyone is responsible for their own behavior. š«¶š»
October 20, 2026 at 5:05 pm #831115Bill, I think youāve touched on something important. Sometimes people genuinely donāt know what they want until theyāre faced with the reality of it, and thatās very different from deliberately misleading someone. I also think itās unfortunate that people who are sincere can end up paying the price for those who arenāt. I appreciate you sharing your perspective, especially that youāre open to different possibilities without pretending to promise something you canāt guarantee. ā¤ļø
October 20, 2026 at 5:08 pm #831118Sparkling, Iām sorry that happened, especially when you were already going through a difficult time. I appreciate you sharing your experience, and Iām glad you found some reassurance and encouragement along the way. I think we all want this to be a place where people feel comfortable joining in, expressing themselves, and enjoying one anotherās company. A little kindness and understanding can make all the difference. š©·
October 20, 2026 at 7:46 pm #831215I agree with what you speak of Lola. As far reality goes I would like to say there are some variables that should be serious considerations on an individual basis. If I was in my younger years I would be 100% LTR however, I am not, so a LTF (friend) is probably a real thing for me. I was buying a tool the other day and the CSR said āIt comes with a lifetime guarantee ā my response was ā At my age everything comes with a lifetime guarantee ā
October 21, 2026 at 12:49 am #831326Bob, you gave me a good laugh with that lifetime guarantee! š I love that you can look at where you are in life with such humor and perspective. And I think thereās something lovely about knowing that a lasting friendship might be just as meaningful as a romantic relationship. Sometimes what weāre looking for changes over the years, and thatās perfectly fine. ā¤ļø
