Hey ladies. I’m a newcomer which means I come loaded with questions!
I’m currently trying to re-lactate after 20 years! I’m using spectra c, I have a momcozy hands free in route. What is everyone’s favorite pump, and why. Who has been successful without DOM?

I cannot speak from my personal experience I have supplied a couple of ladies with a willow 360 hands free pump. They like it. I also have two friends that like the Annabella pump that mimics the baby’s tongue. Both of these are on the pricey side. But they feel that are worth it. They

My Spectra 1 feels great. I think I put silicone inserts in the flanges to get the right size. I also have a set of Elvies, those are nice for the portable factor but not as strong as my Spectra. I also have a manual pump for short sessions when I just need to get a little pumping in and don’t have much time. And I have an old tens unit. I’m mostly not pumping, but it does feel so good for me when I do. A little lubrication is nice, too, I use coconut oil.

Coconut oil is great, I agree! I also have the silicone inserts, they are a great addition to the spectra’s power. I just got a new tens unit I wanted to inform the ladies about, candy tens, it’s really great, large pads actually cover my breast from side to side and it has a double feature so both breasts are stimulated together. Did you induce or just continue lactating after weaning?

I think a schedule is more important than the pump you have. It’s consistency and having a routine.and tens is great to you as work or in areas where you want to be discrete

You are right about the importance of a schedule, it’s definitely a struggle for me and I’m sure many women. Trying to induce discreetly sometimes really prevents adhering to a schedule. From what I’ve read a hospital grade pump is recommended.

    I’m inducing!

Never had a child, so I am starting from scratch. I have a blog here about my lactation journey (sensual, spirituality, and of course milky) but will be posting my routine tomorrow!

Do you like the spectra? I’m using a hands free from Amazon with flange inserts. It’s comfortable, but a little loud imo.

I also agree that being discreet can hinder the process. I try to make up for it sometimes… But I can only do so much

Lmk, what you find on Dom – I have been a little nervous to order because of the heart concerns as a symptom

I’ve been pumping on a schedule, massaging, taking fenugreek, using a tens and nipple suckers but haven’t been able to produce more than a few drops at a time. My pump is the momcozy hands free and I’m wondering if it doesn’t have enough power/ suction to induce.

Hi everyone. Sorry it took a few days to respond. @milkygoddesss I use spectra 2 and love the suction. I’m also taking fenugreek. I use a tens unit and nipple a suction made specifically for inverted nipples (which we all know I don’t have, lol) i last lactated 20+ years ago. I’m not going to take Dom for the same reasons.

Hi @day couldn’t tag you, not sure why. How long have you been trying? I also purchased the momcozy and no, it doesn’t have the Same suction as a wall unit, mine is at least 5 years old and still works better than momcozy. I use tens unit when I can’t pump, taking fenugreek as well. I’d suggest grabbing a spectra s2 off eBay or new. Best of luck to you keep in touch.

Hi! I’m new too, and it’s been 12 years for me since I nursed my youngest. I hear a lot about the spectra, but the reviews are mixed online. I suppose the reviews are mixed on every pump really and it’s so confusing! The hands free pumps I’m using currently don’t seem to be powerful enough, looking for help with finding something more powerful and more discreet

Hi Christy! Its a lot of info, right? I went with the spectra s2 because it is hospital grade and inexpensive compared to others. I like the suction, and I have found inducing guides online, its a whole cycle session designed to stimulate milk production more than just slapping on a pump, lol. I am very disappointed with my handsfree pump, the first time I just kinda held it up to my nipple and it felt great but once I put it in my bra everything shifted and it was a no go. I’ve tried just about everything…

Thanks for the reply @Hisnooch! Do you find the S2 to be quiet? I’ve got a full house and trying to be discreet with the pumping and right now if I’m on the phone for work of if the teenager is home I am pumping with a pillow over my chest, which is annoying
