My GF has started to re-lactation process with Domperidone and my off and on suckling. She is into it but, culturally (she’s Asian) she won’t express or pump without my doing it. So far we have had pretty great results. after 1 month several ducts have opened on each nipple with even a fair amount of milk and even spraying. My question is how long can we keep this up on just Dom alone and my intermittent suckling —like every other week sometimes? While the Dom is really doing it’s job —I had a feeling she’d be a good candidate cuz when I would play with her before we started she would leak a little bit and even sprayed once or twice. (she is 46 and has two teens so hasn’t lactated for well over 11 years.
Consider yourself very fortunate that you are getting those results if she is not pumping or hand expressing in between your visits. It’s rare.
You are lucky to have the results with what you do. Hope it continues.
I recommend you read the Art of Lactation by Jennifer Elisabeth Maiden. The author describes several stages of Lactation.
What you have established is great but you both won’t get more without doing more. Only you two can dial in on effort vs output that makes it work for both of you.
