For anyone who has or who’s partner has ever induced lactation, can you tell me did it cause any changes to their menstrual cycle? Did their periods stop or change at all? I have a friend who’s considering inducing lactation to deal with issues with her periods. She has domperidone for a sickness problem and already has drops.

Also how much (if any) did it increase breast size?

All information would be greatfully received!

From a medical standpoint, I’d never encourage lactation to manage menstrual cycles. Lactation is an intense physiological process. I’d treat these issues separately. Your friend should be seeing a gyno.

From a medical point of view too, agreed no. Lactation affects fertility during the first 6 months after having a baby when baby is exclusivly breastfed, that is feeding 8- 12 times in 24 hours with no formula, dummies etc. Your friend is probably not going to be able to replicate this unless she takes it up as a 24 hour job.
She needs to see a gyno or look at natural family planning

Thank you for your responses 🙂 She has PCOS and does have medical treatment for is looking for a more natural way to help as heavy painful periods. So far none of the medication has done any good 🙁
The potential for messing up a cycle is one of the many things that’s put me off inducing. I’m actually rather blessed with mine 🙂
