Hello ladies-
In order to induce milk, we have to stick to a regular schedule. Isn’t that difficult to do?
We get busy during the day, so it’s very difficult for us to maintain a fixed schedule on weekdays and at night, he tends to fall asleep while nursing from me. I love how he gets so relaxed to the point of falling asleep so I never wake him up.
We do adhere to the schedule on weekends but I know it’s not enough.
Any tips on how to maintain a regular schedule? Also is there anything I can do to delay him falling asleep while he is nursing from me at night?
I’m very early into prelactation so please take what I say with a grain of salt. I had concerns about schedules too. My solution was to purchase the well rated, silent, battery powered, wearable breast pumps. Put them inside your bra and pump anywhere. Not used it yet. I’m hopeful though. I have no idea how to manage a fixed schedule otherwise.
I don’t do routines and schedules, I am as disorganised and scatterbrained as they come 🤪 yet I have relactated just by pumping for pleasure. Apparently it brought me a lot of pleasure! We’re all different and I think it’s more important to enjoy the experience, especially when you have a loving partner with whom to share it.
@rachyj how long did it take you to induce lactation on a variable schedule? Are you also taking supplements/hormones?
I’m not taking anything, like I said I didn’t intend to relactate, it just happened. There was no schedule and I don’t remember how quickly it happened. I never measure anything like that, I just go with it.
