Please be kind to me, I am a newbie.
Tldr: how do I get started with relactation and make sure my breasts and nipples are okay?
More details: I started typing out the whole story and then decided it was too much. Basically, I am very uneducated and looking for more information on relactation and how to protect my breasts and nipples and I guess best practices and advice?
I did some Googling and I saw that relactation is what I am experiencing but the guidance I am finding is more targeted to people who intend to breastfeed babies. I got scared that one of the pages I found suggested pumping 8-12 times a day but I don’t live alone and I don’t have the time. I’ve been told by my friend it’s not necessary and consistency is the most important thing.
I wish that I could consult with a lactation consultant but I am concerned because I wouldn’t want to lie so I would either have to obfuscate the truth of why I am seeking help without actually lying or hope they are understanding.
When my friend and I got together in person, I knew about induced lactation but hadn’t heard the term relactation so I was a little shocked when I produced something like milk after a little suckling.
However, now we are apart I can only really pump and I’m having some issues. I feel like my breasts are in pain all the time and my nipples hurt and keep going back and forth on whether I should keep trying because this is not really a lot of fun alone.
I made an appt with my gynecologist office and I am thankful I have the word relactation to take with me but anxious about how they will react if I tell them the truth.
I guess I want to know if anyone can point me to a guide I can read? Or if they have advice? I got some new flanges and a new converted pumping bra and that seems to be working better comfort wise but barely anything is coming out and sometimes nothing from one or both nipples even manually expressing after pumping. How much water do you really need? Can I be consistent if I only can pump 2-3 times a day?

Also was lucky the gynecologist was kink friendly and helped to put me at ease.
