Hi everyone!
Drinking breast milk as an adult is something I’ve been exploring. Drinking breast milk carries a real risk of triggering my allergic reaction to crustaceans. The problem is the women I met love eating that stuff and I told them sorry I can’t. One woman told me it would be out of her system in 24 hours, but I didn’t believe her.
Does anyone else have this food allergy, and what did you decide to do? Just find someone who doesn’t eat crustaceans?
Small amounts of crustacreans can be in her breastmilk.
Traces of crustacreans appear in breastmilk within 1 -4 hrs after eating them. And they clear out the system within 24-72 hrs.
Yes, be cautious about your allergies, and that includes excluding lactating partners who insist on eating crustaceans. A loving nursing partner would likely be happy to modify her diet for you!
Really appreciate everyone taking the time to read and share your thoughts. Thanks for the great feedback!
