I dont think this works. Ive it set to friends but just now received a message from someone for first time.
It’s worked in the past so there may be a glitch. Thank you for bringing it up and please contact Michael about this.
The following explanation from Michael may apply in this situation: If a person deletes a DM thread, it’s not fully deleted until the other person they’ve been corresponding with does as well. So if you:
1. DM’d with a particular person
2. delete the thread
3. forgot about the correspondence (maybe months ago)
4. engaged the Allow Friends message filter
That particular person could still DM you due to the thread not being fully removed from the system.But if a new person attempts DMing you after you engaged the aforementioned filter, then the message shouldn’t go through.
