InactiveI don’t know if this has been discussed before but I thought it would be helpful if we all added in our experiences with fake people replying to our ads. I recently posted an ad on DoM. Any time I do, if I get a reply within four hours of the post going live I can guarantee that the replyer is a fake. Sometimes the reply is quite obvious with its broken english and whacky content. Other times it’s quite hard to tell. My recent post received a reply the next day. That’s not common.
Here’s the content:
“Hi! I came across your ad and I’m interested in talking more. I’m a woman, 35, DD.Shall we talk more and see if we hit it off?”
The initial wording isn’t bad but it still seems suspect, especially since it came in within 24 hours of my post going live.
I replied and asked that I would like to know more about her first in order to know if she’s real or not.
Her reply:
“No problem! I’m 35 and I live in Southern NH near Nashua. I’m in a legal profession and also a post doc student at a school in Mass. I’ve always had a fascination with ANR and have wanted to develop a friendship in that regard. I decided to look into it today band came across your ad.How about you? Can you tell me a bit more about yourself and your past experiences?”
This still seems like it could be legit but 30 minutes beforehand I got another reply from a different email address. The subject in the email from this second replyer was DD- ANR and the content is… “Hey can you tell me more about yourself”
So to me, adding 1 + 1, this makes for two fake replyers.
Your thoughts? Your experiences?
Lastly, what I don’t get is what are they after? Scam me for money? Are they just high school kids out for a laugh? Sick men posing as women? It just seems pointless to me but damn is it frustrating.December 21, 2021 at 2:43 pm #78562Hi Brian, What is DoM?

InactiveIt’s another site but out of respect for ABFheaven I will not reveal its true name.

InactiveThere are loads of fakers on every website offering chances to meet a lover. When they ask you to tell them more about yourself I suspect they are hunting for information they can use to steal from you. Be careful my friend.
December 21, 2021 at 3:33 pm #78570Brian it’s ok to mention Dreams of Milk website.
But be aware you are kinda asking for discussion about liars/scammers on a different site. DoM is very different to ABFheaven, there’s no membership required to post an ad, and you have to include contact details, email etc. So obviously you will get replies from dubious people.I think Dreams of Milk is a good site, it’s free to post ads. You just have to be aware of the inherent risks of publicly posting your contact details on a site with no membership, no privacy, no restrictions etc.
December 21, 2021 at 3:53 pm #78574Michael, you are humble. DOM is no where near Abfheaven. At one time, they were ok.

InactiveI fully understand that. In fact, Brian is not my real name and I encorage everybody on this site and other related sites to never use their real name and email address. When I used to be a gigging musician I even had an a proxy email address for that world when I put out ads looking for fellow bandmates. My true identity comes out after trust and meeting in person, (if ever). The point of this post is to just have everyone point out what they’ve seen so we can start to “build a list” of the types of replies to be suspect on. Stay safe out there y’all.

InactiveIt seriously gets old as hell. Scammers, creeps and phonies.
I seriously don’t know if I’m talking to a real person or a bot sometimes. Sometimes it’s very broken English, sometimes it’s a very sophisticated conversation.
I’ve had somebody say everything that you would think a normal person interested in ABF would say, only to disappear the moment I tell them that we need to immediately verify each other’s identity through Snapchat. I’ve been doing this crap for over a year now. I’ve gotten pretty good at it LOL
My boyfriend helps me with it.
Which is why I really cut to the chase quickly with conversations. I’m not going to talk to somebody for days and days without knowing who the hell I’m talking to.
If I get any resistance to Snapchat….. ANY resistance….. This person is usually totally fake, or a man pretending to be a woman, etc.
You’re okay sending me naked pictures of yourself but NOT ok using Snapchat??? HIT THE EFFING ROAD!!! FAKE A-HOLE!!December 21, 2021 at 10:19 pm #78704Anonymous
InactiveHey— just an FYI: that wasn’t me who sent you the Snapchat request. I had been offline here for a day or two and when I signed back on, you had blocked me. 🤷🏻♀️

InactiveI’m assuming you’re talking me.
That ‘was’ or ‘wasn’t’ you?
I actually really enjoyed chatting with you. But, again…….. you weren’t going to Snapchat. So…… reluctantly I backed away.
I gave you my Snapchat handle.
You were resistant about snapchatting. It’s a system that I have used for myself for over a year now in order to verify who I’m speaking with. I literally have to filter through five or more fake accounts every week.December 21, 2021 at 11:24 pm #78725Anonymous
InactiveThe anonymity of the Internet is a perfect opportunity for people to act their worst and not have to answer for it. I’ve run into any number of women who are not what they say they are, and have motives completely different than what the venue is about they are participating in, mostly involving money.
All anyone can do is try to weed them out as soon as you can, and move on. The more I’ve used different online meeting places of any kind, the better I get at identifying the phonies.
Don’t be discouraged. Like everything in life, it’s what you make of it.
December 22, 2021 at 12:29 am #78749On every site there are gonna be fakes and people who like. It’s the nature of the internet. But there is nothing wrong with a vetting process. Also flakes are an issue as well.

InactiveI must say snapchat is quite a teen/young person’s site. You wouldn’t find a lot of over 40s on it. Maybe that’s the demographic you don’t want, then that’s OK!
Everyone has their own method of verification….phone num, WhatsApp, kik (eurgh!!) As long as it works and you are ok with losing some who aren’t on your platform of choice.
December 28, 2021 at 4:51 am #81654Hey Brian, thanks for starting this thread. Could you explain a bit how the replies you mentioned seem fake to you? I don’t really see it.
Maybe it would be helpful if people share vetting techniques here. I personally don’t have snapchat but I can surely see the value in picture sharing and video chats. Anyone have a different method?

InactiveTwo almost identical sentences within 30 minutes of each other.
“Hey, can you tell me more about yourself?”
The fake ones are getting much harder to identify but I’ve noticed that once you get an email, just wait and within an hour you’ll get an identical or similar one but from a different email address. -
