Hi!
I’ve been pumping since July. I’ve at times produced a few drops (just a small puddle in the bottom of the bottles), and then gone back to being dry after a few days. I think I’m spotting a correlation between this and my cycle, and it seems to be that I’m producing something just before I ovulate.
Am I imagining this? Has anyone perhaps noticed a different variable that could explain why I’m going dry again after a bit, please? It’s driving me insane not seeing a pattern in how much I pump and how much/little I produce.
Thanks so much!

October 12, 2020 at 2:21 am #8490AnonymousInactiveMy nipples seem to be getting longer, and at times they’re very sensitive, but nothing else. No lactating, just colostrum on my nipples and a small amount of pale fluid in the bottles at times, sometimes just colostrum on my nipples, and other times nothing at all despite usually pumping for longer then. Not breastfed yet, have only joined during lockdown.

Things to consider: age, Underlying health, whether you have previously lactated, are there chronic conditions present, and obesity. You cannot overlook the consideration of any medications taken for health conditions that might be having an effect on your outcome. Caffeine is also likely to have a small effect if you do not also replace that water. I guess that I can write a blog posting with more of this type of information in the near future since there is a definite interest.
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner here in the US. I do wish to stay anonymous at this time, I will put up a new blog posting soon but I just get a little distracted by things at times…These Men…My actual real world job..my kids. You can always send me questions too with a message. And I will get back to you as soon as I possibly can. :o)October 12, 2020 at 4:47 pm #8526AnonymousInactiveHello!
I’ve induced now and been lactating over 3 years with the help of Domperidone. I noticed that when my cycle came my supply drastically got lower. It was very concerning at first. As I previously read in the responses before my cycle started my breasts were very firm and felt as if they grew. Once the cycle started everything went back to normal except the amount of milk I produced was very low. I’ve read it too. -
