Realizing through conversation that there’s a big divide between those who want kids and who don’t here. There’s also many that already have kids.
As someone who’s already been sterilized, I’m on the no kids side obviously. But I’m also a dude who can’t give birth.
Is there a difference for women when they have kids to make them want this more? Are my options reduced in this lifestyle more due to the nature of children/motherhood? Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts/experience with this.
January 26, 2026 at 11:31 pm #695637It all comes down to personal choice. As a Mother, I can say that already having kids makes relactation an easier process than for a woman who hasn’t had kids. At the beginning of my ANR journey, the idea of more kid(s) was on the table still but no longer is as that was 8, almost 9 years ago! I don’t think you not wanting kids will hinder your journey, but like any dating site, it just takes time to find someone like-minded.
January 26, 2026 at 11:55 pm #695644No I don’t think your inability to have children would be a hindrance. Like I have my kids so I’m good. Now if I had no kids and wanted them I could see where that would be an issue. But honestly there are some who aren’t sterilized and still do not wish to have kids. So it honestly depends on what you want or willing to accept.
January 27, 2026 at 12:55 am #695672Honestly I have been thinking hard about this question.. I can’t speak for everyone.. I do wonder if having kids allows the woman to naturally like breast feeding for long periods of time.. plus there is the whole nurturing component of breast feeding. At the same time, I don’t think it matters unless lactation is difficult for someone who didn’t have kids. I think it’s all too much overthinking and I am a master of it so I say.. if you find the right partner you would not think too much and everything will fall into place. In the meantime just go and see the monks in the abbey in Austin and ask them for some advice on non feral behavior 🙂 😉
January 27, 2026 at 5:35 am #695794Hi,
I stand with @MizzLizz.Having kids or not is a personal choice, it doesnt have anything to do with wanting an anrlife.
I would love to normalize abf/anr more, so that info on breastfeeding, on clothing, pumps etc isnt directed to mums, but to women.
Huge difference. We do not loose our identity as a woman when we gave birth.
July 16, 2026 at 3:08 pm #774639Hi @atxsucker
Thanks for asking this important question, and it’s the reason I decided to return to this website. I am a childfree woman, 30, reside in Austin, tubes removed January 2023. It’s been a wild ride looking for other childfree people in these circles.
You’re the first man I’ve discovered, so happy to have done so! Maybe we can chat sometime, if you’re open?
To answer your question, it does cause challenges on my search. When it comes to discussion with potential partners, I’ve always asked upfront “Do you have children? Or do you want them in the future?”
Responses received are usually “I want them later./ Yes, and I’m married but she’s not interested./ I don’t know.” all of which are against what I want. It’s becoming so frequent that I’ve began relearning about poly-liftstyle as it is most helpful with what I’m receiving on my search. Many claim to want to want this lifestyle, yet can’t bring me what I’m able to give. I’ve asked myself “Is this all there is?/ Am I really being reduced to providing short term relief while I’m emotionally craving a secure attachment of my own?”
At present, I’m building a temporary ANR with a young man. It’s agreed this relationship could end once he’s done with school. My work schedule is a huge hindrance to our time together, and I’ve persistently worked to find a remote daytime position. No luck yet. He is amazing, yet wants kids in the future. So I’ve resolved to not letting myself get attached emotionally which is which is easier said than done.
If any clarifications are needed, let me know. I’m unable to message for 3 days after account approval.
