This is my ultimate goal in an ANR – to experience the effect of falling asleep while suckling, then waking either during the night or in the morning, and the first thing I see is those magical comforting breasts, waiting for me to latch on again.
Once or twice, I’ve almost drifted off while still latched on, but not yet allowed myself to succumb to sleep. Have any of you ever experienced this? How does it feel to wake up after being lulled to sleep by this maternal power?
May 16, 2023 at 12:32 am #280632This is exactly what my late husband did most nights. He’d typically latch on at bedtime, fall asleep suckling and then wake in the night usally a few times, latch back on and fall back asleep still attached to my nipple and often continue to suckle while asleep too.
I would also dream-feed him if I woke in the night, which he always said made him sleep sounder.
I don’t know how it feels to be the suckler of course, but as the sucklee it was glorious and so fulfiling to know that I was providing that to him and it created such a strong and unbreakable bond between us.

I highly recommend it.😉May 16, 2023 at 3:34 am #280676Anonymous
InactiveCould you explain what dream feeding is? It sounds wonderful.
May 16, 2023 at 1:54 pm #280818I think Lucy explained dream suckling to me once. It’s having someone suckle while they’re physically asleep, by holding the breast and nipple to their lips, until they instinctively but unconsciously latch on.
The human impulse to suckle is clearly very strong, even to do it without being mentally aware!

InactiveI used to love this when my former ANR partner and I had sleepovers. We used to both drift in and out of sleep and it was like a dream come true. I miss that so much
May 17, 2023 at 11:19 am #281127Dream feeding is as per Rob’s explanation (very well remembered!)
It can be done with babies to tide them over or “top them up” feed-wise, usually when a mother is going to sleep for the night and helps the baby sleep through the night too.
In an ANR, its a wonderful loving way of providing comfort and bonding and I suppose if you do have milk, that nutririon too!

InactiveI will say, there is no better feeling than falling asleep with your partner latched on ,feeling that gentle tug during the night, thinking this feels like a dream, then waking up to that gentle Suckling of a hungry man realizing its a dream come true, is amazing.

Exactly! I could cry just reading your description of it. It honestly does feel like a dream, I miss that feeling so much.
May 18, 2023 at 8:11 pm #281709@jessica654u Jessica that sounds incredible. The closest I’ve been, that I know of, is waking from a nap and suckling her closest nipple. 🤗🥰
