Hi everyone just wanted your take on the matter. I was engaging in conversation and something funny like real life happened. I wasn’t able to respond so the young lady in 2 hours so she sent me two long messages then blocked me before I could respond.
Does it make sense to send someone a message knowing they can’t respond because you block them?
Should there be a buffer preventing you from blocking someone if you send them a message right before?

Is blocking supposed to be a form of punishment or retaliation?

I thought blocking was designed to prevent harrassment. But you can’t harrass someone by not replying to their messages. It kind of feels like women who claim a guy rapes them if refuses to sleep with them
    ( look it up.. it’s a real thing ).

    Any thoughts on the matter?

Please, there isn’t any need or rational purpose to equate any feature on this site to rape. It is a word that incites and divides. *I’m not taking a position on the message/block issue.

Nah, there shouldn’t be a buffer. It’s unfortunate that you were blocked but look at if this way, you probably dodged a bullet as that doesn’t sound like normal behaviour!

Damn, it’s just a block. Forget it and move on.
There isn’t anything about blocking that is similar to rape, except possibly the word no. A block is a “No”. Not too hard to understand is it?

Ya, I was a bit taken aback on the “rape claim” likening, too!

If she did that kind of thing she did you a favor removing herself. Seems weird to do. But maybe she thought she making a point? Idk

No where in the same context of crying wolf to rape

Moveon.org – anyone can block for any reason and you’ll never know why. Maybe you don’t live local, maybe she doesn’t like your profile or you didn’t read her profile and messaged her when she said no men etc. It’s a waste to give it a second thought.

A second “I got blocked” thread in 24 hours!?

Blocking on-line is a (necessary) fact of life, implemented everywhere for the safety and sanity of participants.

Heck, I’ve been blocked here before I sent a first message! She saved me the trouble of carefully crafting my message worthy of Shakespeare, so that was a blessing!

Don’t take it personally. After all, you haven’t met the person, or heard their voice, or anything. Could be that proverbial dog pretending to be human, for all you know.

    Just shrug and move on.

I mean, this sounds like the usually response on Twitter when a woman doesn’t reply within 5-30 minutes, she gets a message that says, “You’re a fat c***” and a block, which honestly, is the only favor that guy ever did.

Some people don’t have patience, expect a “hey brb” message or don’t want to acknowledge the other person has a life. Are you really upset by the fact she showed her true self to you before it got serious?

Also, no, the comparison to rape is not the same. You got blocked, not accused of a violent crime.

Sounds like they dodged a bullet if your upset about a simple block.

…asking a question and being upset are two different things.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond.

It’s totally normal to be disappointed about someone blocking you which could have been your potential partner or whatever

However for whatever reason she has blocked you, id say take it as protection from a potential threat, or projecting her faults on you.
She could have at least communicated that she doesn’t want to talk to you anymore but hey not everyone’s big on communication 🤷🏾‍♂️

Chin up sir, you’ll get yours
