I’m looking at adding a bit of extra functionality for users’ profiles, but I need a few opinions first.
– it’s basically the ability to leave little notes/reminders (visible to you only) when you visit someone else’s profile.
– like sticking a post-it note to their profile… a quick rating/a thumbs up or thumbs down/ whatever you like.
– only you can see it, not the owner of the profile and not any other user. You can add/delete anytime you like.
– useful? …I think so, there are so many users on ABFheaven that it might help to keep private tabs on potential partners/total no-hopers etc. 😊
– open to abuse? … not really, the notes you leave are always only visible to you.That’s it really, if we go ahead with this I would initially make it available to Verified Members only, a little bonus for their contribution to the site. I have to purchase this add-on software. If it’s a good addition to the site, maybe make it available for all.

I think that it could be useful. You could add notes like “cool dude” she had a great chat persona. I love her singing voice, Suze, Welshie, CC. 😜
Could be very handy. Especially for women who may have concerns and want to keep reminders for later on if the person makes contact again.
I think it’s a great idea, and I use ta feature just like it on 23 and me and ancestry. I was chatting with someone a few months ago and I told her I do not delete messages on this, any other site, or texts, because I may need to reference them at some point.

It would also be nice to see your friends comments on s profile, but I don’t know if this is possible.
Also is there a way to have 2 groups within your friends lists. Sometimes we have women who are friends with us and we exchange induction and other tips with but we don’t necessarily want or need to see all of the pictures in the women friend’s media folder. Same maybe true of male friends who are just good friends with us but not necessarily ABF partners. I hope my post makes sense 🙂

Speaking of site improvements: it would be great if the Search Members page would save the previously selected criteria one made the last time that one used the page.
It would be nicer to just retain the prior communication/messages, not be deleted if older than six months. It’s frustrating to be contacted by someone you communicated with before, but do not recall anything about. The need to take the step to put notes on someone’s file is a little much; if the person was a jerk you remember that. For me, having the prior communication (beyond six months) is more useful, in contrast who is going to take the time to put communication reminders on everyone’s file they speak to?

As long as it’s easy for us to do – if I need to dig through 4 menus to add the note “likes Shrek” on their profile, I likely won’t use it@MsLatte…. sorry, currently it’s not possible to split friends into different “categories” as you suggest. I will look into it. Also not possible to comment directly on a profile, it would lead to abuse.
@.tikikali… yep, I’m with ya. Unfortunately that is “baked into” the whole system and is apparently a nightmare to correct. Its certainly an issue, agreed.
@flowergarden… there is no six month limit on messages being retained, they are held indefinitely. Probably a glitch in the – admittedly – rather unreliable messages system. Its currently being overhauled, hopefully the update will be an improvement.
@.sleepy… the interface looks pretty simple , a “My Notes” button on the target profile opens up a text input box, thats it. The same My Notes button viewed on your own profile opens up a list of all notes you have left for others, plus links. Should be ok.
I’m definitely gonna add a note “Likes Shrek” to Sleepy’s profile …and he’ll never know … 🤣🤣🤣

Also, it would make people donate money to get verified if they want to use the extra features. It makes sense and most websites give extra features for subscriptions, so definitely go for it if it makes sense financially for you.
You know what would be even better, Michael. If you could just read my mind or create an algorithm that would filter everything/everyone unnecessary or not desired by me 🤩 thanks. Deb
Being relatively new here I’m still checking out the site. But I think a feature like that would benefit a lot of people. It gives people the option and they of course don’t have to use it if they don’t want. I don’t see a down side. Other than your cost and time to setup. And it’s a good perk for those who’ve contributed.
Also this site has to be one of if not the best ABF site. Lots of users, lots of activity and participation. And puzzles! I was so surprised to see that. I’m working my way from oldest to newest :). Thanks for the great site.
