InactiveHi all,
Just curious to find out how effective domperidone has been for women in inducing lactation?
Is it worth taking or not?
September 30, 2022 at 11:27 am #193558Hi Lily,
From my understanding it’s one of the better supplements to be taking, however, in the UK domperidone is only available by prescription from a doctor, if you’re considering buying on the internet then please be very vigilant of which sites you purchase it from, as many sell fake product.
Fenugreek on the other hand is also a very good supplement to take and is available in all good Holland & Barrett stores and thus safer to take!
Good Luck
KeithSeptember 30, 2022 at 11:45 am #193563Keith I know your reply is in good faith, but Fenugreek can inhibit lactation before production as it can increase estrogen.
Herbs etc are effective after lactation has already been induced. If taken before, they actually can have a negative effect.

InactiveLondonMan is correct, not only does fenugreek do nothing for inducing, it dries up supply for about 50% of the women taking it, I didn’t know that until it happened to me and I started researching it.
As far as the effectiveness of domperidone, most women see drops of milk within a week or 2 of starting it, compared to months of pumping, suckling, or marmet massage alone.
In house pharmacy will not ship to the UK, there is another supplier that will, I’ll send that info in a message. I also advise avoiding emitop and vomistop, they are not as effective as other brands, this is not my personal experience, it’s what I’ve read in multiple groups and websites. I decided against trying either of those after reading about them. I have used motilium and cadila with great results, motilium is the gold standard for inducing.
September 30, 2022 at 1:22 pm #193586It works wonders. Thanks to domperidone now I have an excess supply. The only downside is weight gain which I believe don’t happen to everyone

InactiveDomperidone is a drug for nausea and it’s side effect is lactation!!!!
It works great and I’ve been taking many pills daily for many years!!October 1, 2022 at 1:10 am #193807Anonymous
InactiveWhy is it that men, who have not induced, are always the first to answer these questions? <facepalm> Actually, @londonman is incorrect, as well. There are some herbs you can take to help with inducing. Goats Rue and Alfalfa being two of them. Some also take soy lethicin while inducing. They work better when taken in conjunction with Domperidone. Most other herbs work to increase supply and are only helpful after you have milk.
