So yesterday I learnt of the death by suicide of an online friend from a different site and I’m absolutely gutted. We had been chatting online daily for a while and he was absolutely lovely. His profile suddenly disappeared last week and I was gutted about that. Every day since I searched his username to see if he rejoined but alas yesterday when I logged on his ex wife had a post on the forum about his death.
It’s often hard to remember that there are real people behind the profiles and posts on these sites and that they are often struggling.
It is also normal to be gutted and grieve for those we chatted with but have never met!!
RIP Bikerdrew, you sure made me smile a hell of a lot when chatting.
My sincerest condolences. Losing a friend is always difficult.

@nickny sorry to hear about your friend. It’s amazing how we can become attached to people from chatting online.@juicyboobies it happens when we chat for long and trust each other and create a bond, even though it’s all virtual. It happens when there is honesty and trust.
