I’ve been feeling kind of discouraged because I can’t afford a good double electric pump which I’m definitely gonna need. I have a couple months until it’s 100% required (doing Newman Goldfarb accelerated Protocol) but it’s still coming up!

I was able to get my combo birth control for free through bedsiders program. And I even tried to see if I could get one of the Medicaid pumps but they said no because I don’t have a child LOL.

Domperidone I was able to afford so that’s fine. I’d also like a tens unit but idk which ones are “good”, I don’t have a lot of money so if I spend even $30 on a dud that would suck.

So what are the absolute best resources for affordable options?

Look on Amazon, look on Google, look on craigslist.

Ask your boyfriend for help too.

Check on the FB marketplace, too.

A cheap one that’s been helpful is the Bellababy on Amazon for $45.00- $65.00 (the price always changes). It has a ton of settings. It’s more than 30.00 but worth it, better than the Medela, and can be used on the go/holds it’s charge.

I found a Medela pump n style on FB marketplace for $5.00. I switched out the tubing and valves, it was good to go.

You can find good used double electric pumps on eBay, Facebook marketplace, and/or Craigslist. Just buy new tubing and parts for it. I bought a tens unit off Amazon for around $30 and it works great! Just read reviews before buying.

The first link is for a freemie pump, it’s 50 but well worth it. The second is for the spectra S2, more affordable but not as mobile as the freemie. Pretty much all breast pumps made nowadays are closed systems, meaning milk does not flow through the pump or hoses, so buying new parts is really not necessary. You can soak them in soapy water and rinse the tubes or even boil some water take it off the stove and let them sit in hot water for 5 minutes. If you’re going to use the boil method test a small part of the hose to make sure it does warp. There is also the option of running isopropyl alcohol though the hoses, and using pipe cleaners to wash out the hoses.

I second the Bella Baby for a cost effective pump. I actually found one new but open box on eBay for $22 but even at new for $60 on Amazon is a good price and it’s a decent pump until you can save up for something else.

Thank you guys!!! I lucked out and found an entire set for $30 with a used bellababy and pumping bra (in the right size too!). Got a flange insert on Amazon for $15 and a vegan nipple balm (they’re so freaking hard to find…they almost always have beeswax) for $10. So I’m ready to roll!!!!

Domperidone isn’t helpful until you actually have a milk supply, fyi. It helps with VOLUME, not with inducing.

Sorry. I’m going to have to disagree with FlowGardn. Domperidone is very helpful and is the “go to” medication for successful lactation. Sure you can induce by other means , but this method has been very successful for over 15 years with me. The medication I think you are talking about and referring too for INCREASING volume is fenugreek.

Which resource did you use to get your Domperidone? I’m looking for help in that area, please.

I produced more milk in in the first week of taking domperidone than I had in # months of inducing without it. It is the miracle med for inducing.
